Prior to the trial, the Members’ required a collared shirt for men, and forbid “revealing” tops for women, with shorts of any kind completely forbidden in the Members' Pavilion. Fing, who has been a Swans fan “as long as (he) can remember”, told news.com.au he’s “excited for the kids to be able to share in that passion too.” Fing told news.com.au that they called him within an hour of him posting on social media to apologise, and “ensured (him) that is not the experience they want their fans to have.” “Understand the rules, but surely being polite about it and maybe giving a warning is better than rejecting a family with a 4 month old baby in the heat?” Fing posted a photo of family before and after the incident, with his six year old son in tears afterwards at the prospect of not getting the chance to see his first AFL game.
