Nexon, the publisher of games like the MapleStory series, has allegedly hit Dark and Darker creators Ironmace Games with a cease and desist letter which resulted in the game being pulled (for now) from Steam. We ask for your understanding as we work to get the game back up as quickly as possible. Due to the sensitive legal nature of this issue we must be careful with our statements so as to not jeopardize our position. If you've been keeping up with Dark and Darker only to learn of the dates for the next playtest and haven't looked beyond that, it's reasonable to assume you may not have heard of the heated conversations around the game as far as the two companies are concerned. Things got complicated when Nexon suggested that Dark and Darker looked a whole lot like P3, a canceled game Nexon once had in development. [0comments](#)

Two weeks ago, Ironmace was served a search warrant by Korean police, who searched the offices and seized material related to the game. The developers have run into issues of late with industry giant Nexon going after the studio.

Ironmace has reportedly been cease and desist request from publisher Nexon.

According to the message, the package will give the player Chams, Noclip cheats, and the ability to disconnect other players. "We are currently working with our legal team to remedy this issue in the best manner possible. Please know that we will do all that is possible for our fans. The last to go was the store name, apparently. At the time of writing, however, Ironmace's website is still live. Up and coming fantasy extraction game Dark and Darker has been taken down from Steam following a cease and desist as well as DMCA claim by publisher Nexon.

Employees at Ironmace were formerly working at Nexon on a project called P3, cancelled in 2021, that Nexon alleges bears similarity to Dark and Darker, seemingly implying that Ironmace used stolen assets and code to create its game. Due to the sensitive legal nature of this issue we must be careful with our statements so as not to jeopardize our position.
