Obviously the NRL is concerned with reducing the impact of concussions on its players through stamping out unnecessary hits, but I feel the panel got this one wrong and a fine and strong warning would have sufficed. NOT REAL: Felise Kaufusi and the Dolphins legal team headed down to Sydney on Tuesday night to face the NRL Tribunal. Tedesco only recently extended his stay to the end of 2025, something that will no doubt play a part in Suaali'i's decision making. Suaali'i, tellingly, signed a one-year deal with the Roosters for 2024, leaving many to think that 2025 will see him pushing for a Wallabies jersey as he takes to the field for the Waratahs. Add to the story the key ingredient of one Wayne Bennett, the super coach so heavily associated with all the historical success of the Broncos, before his bitter split from the club, and you have one helluva storyline. Ever since the Broncos entered the national competition back in 1987, there have been two kinds of rugby league fan in Brisbane; those that jumped on board the Broncos bandwagon and those that stuck to their old Queensland Rugby League teams and/or their other favourite NRL teams.

A chance for the 'visitors' to test the Dolphins defence now. As I said, the Dolphins have emulated Brisbane '88 and Storm '98 to win their first three games as an expansion club... Sean O'Sullivan punts it down the field but Selwyn Cobbo plucks the ball from the sky with aplomb, with a smile on his face to boot. The Storm are finally up and running for 2023. He can't get it over the line but the Dolphins are awarded the set restart right on the Broncos try line. The winger goes a metre from the line, about to bundle it over, but Reece Walsh flies over to stop his rival from scoring for the Dolphins. He has options left and right, but decides to take the Hammer on and loses that battle and is hauled to the turf. Penalty for the Broncos to relieve some pressure. Milford ends the set by kicking it sky high, with reverse spin on the ball and it bamboozles Reece Walsh, takes a bounce, but the full back is just about able to sweep up. This one is all about Reece Walsh, who finds Cobbo with a bullet-like pass, and the young winger powers over the line. Milford kicks it on the last play but it goes straight down the throat of Cobbo. The Dolphins are on the board and back in the game!
