It's been a restless night north-east of Melbourne, with a bushfire that threatened properties yet to be declared under control.
The fire is not yet under control, but the emergency warning has been downgraded to a watch and act notice for Maintongoon, Bonnie Doon, Fawcett and Woodfield. An emergency warning was issued shortly before 8pm on Wednesday night, with residents at several properties in the path of the fire advised to evacuate. Three water bombing helicopters and several fire crews spent Wednesday night battling the blaze at Maintongoon near Bonnie Doon.
