Arsenal host Everton in a huge game for both teams in their respective battles at either end of the Premier League table.

Wolves will sit deep and look to pick off Liverpool on the counter just like they did in their big win at Molineux a few weeks ago. Wolves drew at Fulham last time out and Julen Lopetegui’s side are a bit all over the place too. Everton’s issues have been scoring goals and they created some great openings against Villa but just couldn’t finish.

Former Arsenal man Alex Iwobi will be itching to get one over his former side and will have to play a starring role in central midfield if Everton were to come away with a big win. After conceding sloppy goals to Aston Villa, especially at home expect Dyche to will likely employ similar tactics that frustrated Arsenal and handed the English coach a debut win at Everton. As for Everton, a demoralising 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa leaves the Merseyside club just in the relegation zone. After Leandro Trossard impressed in the false nine role, Arteta may opt to rest Eddie Nketiah for a second straight game. The victory at Leicester was particularly impressive considering that Arsenal restricted the hosts to only one shot on target all game, whilst also importantly giving striker Eddie Nketiah a brief rest by utilizing Leandro Trossard as the false nine. Since then back to back wins against Aston Villa and Leicester has steadied the ship, with Arsenal now two points clear above Man City.

When Jesus returns it will be quite the boost for Arsenal but in the meantime, there is no issue in keeping things as is with Trossard and Eddie Nketiah keeping things ticking leading the line. Striker has been a major issue for Dyche as Neal Maupay will likely deputize in his stead. Thomas Partey could start the match after coming off of the bench in the Gunner's last match and Gabriel Jesus is back in training but still doing individual work. Along with Jorginho, the January additions to the team are showing that Arteta and the board are pushing the right buttons to keep Arsenal's title run going but the team can't afford to slip up against Everton with only a two point lead atop the Premier League. Since Sean Dyche took charge at the end of January, Everton have had two wins and two losses including already defeating Arsenal once. But Arsenal have a secret weapon of their own in Leandro Trossard.

Former Burnley boss Dyche sits on a 50% win record after picking up another home win against Leeds United but has suffered defeats in the Merseyside Derby at Anfield and at home to Aston Villa just last weekend too. Arsenal will be looking for their 100th league win over Everton as the two sides for the 204th time in the clubs' history which will be a first for any English league club to register 100 victories against an opponent. Arsenal will be looking for revenge when they welcome Sean Dyche's Everton to the Emirates Stadium just a month after the former Burnley boss stunned Mikel Arteta's side at Goodison Park.

Arsenal host Everton at the Emirates today hoping to extend their lead above Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.

A tricky first half but they solved problems at the right times. "Once we scored the first goal, the game unlocked. In the second half they showed what a side they are. We needed a magic moment and Bukayo produced that. We had some difficulties at the start. I've told the players that. The Athletic asked Mikel Arteta about Zinchenko and Saka's initiative creating Arsenal's second goal: "You have to produce those magic moments and take that initiative. When you have that and the talent they have, good things will happen. "Every game is a big time. When you're 2-0 up it brings the freedom. "Forty minutes, a goal out of nothing. [Gabriel Martinelli](https://theathletic.com/football/player/gabriel-martinelli-NsmAJRRvnAnaLr6r/) then doubled the hosts' lead in first-half stoppage time after VAR overruled an offside decision.

Arsenal look to cash in on their game in hand in the Premier League title fight as they host Everton at The Emirates in a midweek showdown.

Everton, meanwhile, are upwards of 8/1 underdogs on the moneyline. Arsenal are not a team that has excelled in the air this season, winning just 44 percent of their aerial duels this year, the lowest percentage in the Premier League. 4th min: Arsenal are having trouble getting out of their own half of the pitch under pressure from a high Everton press, but eventually they find Bukayo Saka on the outlet and advance forward to earn a corner. Saka picks up the ball with a great turn to leave Vitaliy Mykolenko in his dust, and the England international roofs it from a tight angle on the right, making no mistake. ]Gabriel Martinelli has the ball in the back of the net, but the flag is up! Arsenal don't really have anyone occupying the area in front of the box and maybe, given Everton's bodies there, that makes sense.— James Benge (@jamesbenge) They've seemed at their happiest when Arsenal force Everton to kick the ball out of play when trying to play out from the back though— Art de Roché (@ArtdeRoche) Dwight McNeil charges forward unchallenged to the top of the penalty area and has the entire net to shoot at, but his low effort is parried well by the Arsenal goalkeeper. All the Norwegian has to do is redirect it on goal, and James Tarkowski can't get the block, instead simply deflecting it into the roof of the net. The entirety of the last 15 minutes have been played in the Everton third, and Arsenal seem to now be trying to walk the ball into the net. Now with a five-point cushion and a sumptuous performance in their pocket, Arsenal welcome another drop threat in Bournemouth to the Emirates on the weekend. Everton looked like a typical Sean Dyche side for the first 40 minutes, bunkered in and able to stifle the Arsenal attack.

Arsenal dropped off a lot to allow the striker to turn and shoot from 25 yards. Zinchenko plays a simple pass through the lines to Saka in the right channel. Jumpers and coats have come off in the stadium as Arsenal go 5 points clear. who was exactly level with the ball as it came to him! Having said that, until the goals came, nothing clear was being created and it took a moment of class from Saka to light up the Emirates Stadium and kill the nerves that may have been creeping in. Maupay gets the ball in his own half and waits for his teammates, who don't show up. Unfortunately, the connection is not great and it bounces over the bar. Trossard makes a surging run down the left side and plays a lovely cut-back to Ødegaard, who taps in from close range. McNeil takes the ball inside from the left and strikes a low shot across goal towards Ramsdale, who can't catch it. The Emirates has celebrated another wonderful night in an extraordinary season and Arsenal move one step in the right direction to getting their hands on the league title. Smith-Rowe and Fabio Vieira both try their luck but the ball goes out of play. Erik Ten Hag's team are just 6 points behind with a game in hand, so everything is to play for at the top!

Arsenal look to cash in on their game in hand in the Premier League title fight as they host Everton at The Emirates in a midweek showdown.

In fact, the game flow odds indicate the betting market has questions about Everton being able to score. Everton, meanwhile, are upwards of 8/1 underdogs on the moneyline. 120 mins to kick: Arsenal can become the first English club to register 100 top-flight league victories against a single opponent, sitting on 99 league wins against Everton. However Leandro Trossard offered a better approximation of the Brazilian than Eddie Nketiah, who had been nursing a slight knock in the week.— James Benge (@jamesbenge) It's not exactly something Everton are exceptional at, as their 46 percent rate is third-worst in the league, but the Toffees do have a high volume, contesting 679 of them, which is seventh in the English top flight. Arsenal are not a team that has excelled in the air this season, winning just 44 percent of their aerial duels this year, the lowest percentage in the Premier League. Arsenal host Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday; kick-off 3pm. Bukayo Saka's opener was of course brilliantly taken, but the chance only arose because of Zinchenko's vision and his ability to execute passes other players can't. His role in this victory could be seen in the numbers. That he produced it from the right-hand side of midfield felt even more fitting. "He has played those kinds of games, against low blocks, 200 times and that's very helpful." For 40 minutes at the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal's efforts to navigate the two banks of blue shirts defending Jordan Pickford's goal ended in frustration. The hosts could barely even muster a shot on goal. "Then, a soft goal from our point of view. "Then, once you're two down at a place like this, it's very difficult. Everton boss Sean Dyche said: "For 40 minutes, I thought we did very well against a top side. And then the team grew, especially with Thomas [Partey], because Jorgi wasn't feeling good today. I'm not going to wait for somebody else to do it.'

Arsenal player ratings vs Everton as Bukayo Saka stars, Martinelli ... (Football.London)

How the Gunners got on individually in their Premier League clash with Everton at the Emirates Stadium.

Kieran Tierney: Arteta had his hands on his heads as he overran the ball on one occasion. Emile Smith Rowe: A huge roar from the home fans to greet his return to the Emirates pitch. Looks to be a player who's growing in confidence and with how often he's coming on at the moment seems to be slowly rising up the pecking order. Some nice passes forward to unlock the Everton backline, with a lob to Nketiah the highlight. Looks so much better interchanging with Trossard and did a great job occupying the centre forward position for the most part. Bukayo Saka: There's an alternate universe where Arsenal don't break Everton down in the first half and go on to struggle, but Bukayo Saka made sure that didn't happen. Some nice balls to progress Arsenal up the pitch that may not necessarily have caught the eye. Jorginho: In an opening 40 mins where Arsenal struggled to break Everton down he was one of the players trying hardest to break the lock. Superb ball to Nketiah in the build up to Martinelli's second too. Gabriel: An excellent tackle to thwart Neal Maupay in the first half when the scores were 0-0. William Saliba: Neal Maupay hardly had a sniff all night and the Frenchman was a part of that. Ben White: Like the rest of the Arsenal backline, not much to do on the night.
