"Outer Banks" star Chase Stokes reveals he "effed up" while auditioning for a role in Netflix's "Stranger Things."

"Joe Keery is an absolute legend who is so good as Steve Harrington," the OBX star said. While he may not have landed the role of Steve, The Duffer Brothers did cast Chase in the show's premiere season as a character named Reed. Chase Stokes may have landed a starring role in Netflix's Outer Banks, but there was another huge series with the streaming service that first caught his eye — Stranger Things.

Chase Stokes, who played a small role in Stranger Things' first season, has revealed that he initially auditioned for the role of Steve Harrington.
