Bombshell finding in Aussie's doping case (NEWS.com.au)

Peter Bol is free to race again after a shock positive drug test rocked the athletics world in January.

The question has to be now with Peter Bol how was the A sample result leaked, or in other terms before the process was finished. He was booked to go to Canberra and very likely was going to be named Young Australian Of The Year before the news broke.— Luke Dennehy (@LukeDennehy) “Sport Integrity Australia is not currently in a position to comment further on the matter.” “Pursuant to the relevant provisions in the Australian National Anti-Doping Policy 2021 and World Anti-Doping Code 2021, the Mandatory Provisional Suspension which was imposed on the Athlete following the AAF from the Part A Sample on 10 January 2023 is lifted. “Recombinant EPO is a synthetic substance and is not produced naturally by the human body. “An ATF is not the same as a negative test result. He said the A sample being announced was a “disgrace” and described the process as “unbelievable.” “The results of the Part A sample analysis for the Athlete was an Adverse Analytical Finding (positive doping test) for rEPO. “The USADA is the world leader in this reagrd - they would never announce a test before a B sample confirmed an A and before a charge letter was issued, it would not happen. “I wish that the results of my A Sample had not been leaked, but there is nothing I can do about that.” “Last month, I told everyone that I was innocent and asked that everyone in Australia believe me and let the process play out,” Bol said. In a statement on Tuesday, Bol confirmed that his B Sample “did not confirm my A Sample”.

'They messed up': Bol drugs 'disgrace' shredded (Wide World of Sports)

"Normally an athlete doesn't even know they have an atypical finding. So, the fact that they continue to just publicly have this case before all of Australia is just sad, really." That statement is failing to acknowledge that they messed up the whole thing from the beginning. "What an atypical finding does is it triggers additional testing. That's all an atypical finding normally does," he said. "All they should have said was the B did not confirm the A. They don't look after the interests of the athletes. It never should have been leaked, never should have been released. "So I don't really understand how there can be such a difference between the same urine. "I don't understand what that means. How can they be so different?" "Why wasn't the B test done as well when the A was done?

I don’t want him being focused on being a plaintiff answering people, that is not fun. He is a runner, he represents Australia with honour every time he puts on that uniform. He has to get back to his normal life.” It is possible they overloaded the test when they did it. They have the burden to prove he did something wrong to the comfortable satisfaction of any hearing panel, and they can’t do that. There is no urine test to prove anything.”

Olympic 800m finalist Peter Bol on Tuesday said his provisional doping suspension has been lifted after the A and B samples didn't match.

“Everybody is fired up and has a lot of confidence,” U.S. “I really buy into this team event,” said Radamus, who won a combined five golds at the Youth Olympics and the junior worlds. “So everything I do is because they are motivating me and pushing me to do it. And so to be able to celebrate like this together is so special to me.” And he was able to execute and perform there, which is really cool.” medal in the team event, which debuted at the world championships in 2005 and was part of the last two Olympics. “We’ve all gone through the ringer a bit,” Ford said. We got a strong team.” “And then for Tommy to have to clutch up in the end there, I think he’s so steady, always so even keel, doesn’t let the moment get to him. But I wasn’t going to let up at all.” O’Brien had to endure four surgeries after a gruesome compound fracture at the Beijing Olympics that left her bone protruding from her left leg. The team event has since been cut from the Olympics.

Peter Bol: what does an atypical doping test result mean for the ... (The Guardian)

The Olympian says a B sample has exonerated him but for Sport Integrity Australia the case is not closed and for Bol his race is not yet run.

Bol is an inspiration, a hero – his journey from Sudan to Egypt to Australia to the Tokyo Olympics is truly remarkable. “I wish that the results of my A sample had not been leaked, but there is nothing I can do about that,” said Bol on Tuesday. But he is not in the clear just yet. It is not quite right to describe that transparency as a leak – Bol’s sample result was not leaked. When the results of a B sample “do not fulfil the quality and indication criteria described” in the technical standards, the result is returned as negative. Balancing transparency and the legitimate interests of an athlete is not easy. His ability to qualify for the world championships might also depend on discretion from Athletics Australia, if he does not compete in the national titles in March. This, in the words of SIA, is “is not the same as a negative test result”. But an ATF is not a negative result either. It would not specify a timeframe, although a hearing is scheduled for next month. This morning, I am relieved to report that it did.” An ATF is not a positive result; Bol and his supporters can take much relief from that. If this was a 800m contest, Bol’s preferred distance, the finish-line might be in sight, but the race is not over yet.
