Upon release from hospital, the men were taken to Penrith Police Station, where they were both charged with in company rob while armed with dangerous weapon. Several witnesses intervened and were able to hold down the men at the scene until police arrived. Police were told that two men entered a tobacconist and allegedly threatened the employee with a firearm, before stealing several packets of cigarettes and cash.
