If Pirates of the Caribbean 6 brought back Will and Elizabeth, the sequel could have pushed Jack back into the background instead of leaning into Depp's comedic hamminess at every opportunity. However, for all the faults found in Dead Men Tell No Tales, the fifth Pirates of the Caribbean set up the best possible sequel to end the series. However, the return of Davy Jones does have a major impact on the story of the series.
