awards and nearly 300 wins, Brady is unlikely to be happy leaving the field after such a drubbing against the Cowboys. Where, and if, he tries to erase the memory is yet to be determined. The Buccaneers went for the 2-point conversion, but Brady badly missed Godwin in the end zone. Gage was carted off to a hospital with a concussion and a possible neck injury, but was moving his fingers, Buccaneers Coach Todd Bowles said. But Tampa Bay fell too far behind for Brady to engineer a 10th. The Buccaneers never established their running game, forcing Brady to throw 23 times in the first half alone. Maher at last converted the extra point attempt to push Dallas’s lead to 31-6. The fumble was overturned after a review, but Brady could not capitalize. The Patriots rallied to beat the Raiders in overtime, 16-13. About the only offensive breaks the Buccaneers mustered in the first half came from Brett Maher, the Cowboys kicker, who missed all three extra point attempts, an N.F.L. But Monday’s game was lopsided from the outset as Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott threw at will to an array of receivers, and running back Tony Pollard sliced through Tampa Bay’s defense for 77 yards on 15 carries. That run was bracketed by two touchdown passes to tight end Dalton Schultz in the first half, when the Cowboys took an 18-0 lead into the locker room at Raymond James Stadium.

Brady still has one-upped Father Time, so one team may be very lucky to win the Brady sweepstakes come this offseason.

The Titans had been an interesting landing spot, and were pursuing Brady when he was a free agent in 2020. While some were maybe expecting a Hollywood ending in New England, with Brady returning to save the organization from Mac Jones, don't expect that to be the case. It seems almost certain that Brady is going to gear up for his 24th year in the league. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport says that Vegas remains a "possibility" for Brady. With Brady set to hit free agency again, the rumor mill has begun to churn. While the Buccaneers slipped to an 8-9 record this year, that wasn't the fault of Brady, who threw for 25 touchdowns to nine interceptions over 4,694 passing yards this season.

'Looked like a 45yo QB': Alarming trend 'must change' if Brady plays on as legend delivers classy act.

That’s the thing that he’s going to take some time (to ponder).” He’s led the league in pass attempts for the last two years at 44 and 45 years old. “I‘ve watched him warm up today and he can throw every ball. “When I talk to people about it, people inside the game believe he‘s coming back for another year,” Buck told ESPN. “But I will go back to what we said in the game. He‘s well-regarded and he can still play at a high level. But tonight, let’s be honest, he looked like a 45-year-old quarterback,” Aikman told ESPN. If that’s in Tampa, great, but you can’t throw the ball 66 times and expect to do anything – and he’s been doing that for the last couple years. He obviously does, I mean he’s done it all. We came up short as a team and that’s all that matters and all I’ve cared about … I’m just very grateful for the respect and hope I gave the same thing back to you guys, so thank you very much.” Thank you everybody for welcoming me, all you regulars.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Give Tom Brady Little Reason To Return ... (Forbes)

While the Buccaneers' season is over, attention will immediately shift to Tom Brady's future. The 45-year-old quarterback will be a free agent in the ...

There is simply no precedent for a quarterback of Brady’s stature playing into his 24th season at the age of 46. Part of that has to do with the makeshift offensive line that’s been in place since the day of Ryan Jensen’s knee injury during training camp. In other words, it was his first interception in the red zone as a member of the Buccaneers. The offense as a unit has been a mess since Week 1. That move alone obviously won’t be enough as the Buccaneers will also have to shore up the offensive line along with potentially looking for cost-effective replacements for multiple veterans. But it also has a lot to do with his surroundings. "The Tennessee Titans still have some quarterback questions,” said Rapoport. Maybe that has to do with the fact that he’s minimizing taking hits as a 45-year-old quarterback. In a perfect microcosm of Tampa Bay’s fortunes this season, Brady threw his first red zone interception since the 2019 season. While the Buccaneers’ season is over, attention will immediately shift to Tom Brady’s future. “It's a great place to be. “I love this organization,” said Brady.

For the first time, he endured a losing season. Regardless of his choice, his Hall of Fame bust will look the same. He hasn’t managed to do amazing things with the Bucs because he turned back the clock. Before ending his postgame media session, he thanked the media and expressed his love for the Buccaneers. He panicked and tossed the football toward the back of the end zone. He might have to get used to causing the audience to wince instead of dropping jaws, but there’s nothing wrong with riding the train to the end of the line. He finished with 351 yards and two touchdowns, but the offense did most of the damage after Dallas took a 24-0 lead. But Willie Mays didn’t ruin his reputation when he ended his career with the New York Mets. In that span, he had attempted 410 passes, thrown 86 touchdowns and used his old-man trot to run for seven scores. The Cowboys led 6-0, and Brady was responding the way Brady responds, directing a 14-play drive that put his team within five yards of the end zone. The feeble pass, which Tom Brady intended to throw out of bounds, landed softly in the hands of Dallas Cowboys safety Jayron Kearse. Brady slapped the side of his helmet, looked down and screamed.

Tom Brady landing spots: Why the Raiders are the perfect match for ... (Sporting News AU)

If Tom Brady plays another NFL season, it would make perfect sense for him to join Josh McDaniels with the Raiders. Here's why.

They could work their way under that number by cutting Ryan Tannehill and restructuring some contracts, but they would have to use a lot of their created space on signing Brady; that would prevent them from further upgrading their offense, which is rather weak at receiver and along the offensive line. Frankly, it was the first time in his career that Brady truly received subpar coaching after spending the first 22 seasons of his career with Bill Belichick and Arians. The duo enjoyed a lot of success together, and McDaniels coached him during each of his three All-Pro seasons. McDaniels has spent most of his career with the Patriots, and he worked extensively with Brady. So generally speaking, the Raiders plenty of flexibility to upgrade their roster around Brady and shape themselves into a true contender. Coaching was a major problem for Brady during his final season with the Buccaneers. That said, while that will dry up a lot of their cap space, the Raiders can very easily create more. Even if Brady told the Raiders that he wasn't fully sold on their offense, they could sell him on the prospect of adding another top receiver to the fold. Once the Raiders part with Derek Carr, be it via a trade or a release, they will save $29.25 million in cap space. More important, however, is that the Raiders have a solid running game that can help to support Brady. Meanwhile, Darren Waller remains one of the biggest athletic threats at the tight end position and would give Brady a potential star at that position. And while one can argue that Brady isn't the same elite-level quarterback that he once was, he still had some solid outings despite playing for one of the league's most inept offenses.

Even so, the Buccaneers and several other teams are ready to welcome Brady for the '23 season if he decides to play a 24th season. Payton said last week that the Saints wanted a first round pick to free him from retirement. As Florio went on to point out, Tagovailoa is set to earn $4.738 million in 2023, the final year of his rookie deal. Brady has already achieved so much in his career but if there is any way to add to his legacy, winning a Super Bowl with the Jets is it. Then there is the question of who takes over as new offensive coordinator. Could Miami be in the market for a quarterback again? The 24-year-old was playing at an MVP-calibre level under coach Mike McDaniel, that was until multiple concussions would bring his best-ever season to an early close. If there is one thing that will make Brady’s life easier it’s playing for a top defensive unit and the Jets are just that. “It is a reality check on where the Patriots are as a franchise. That is despite the spotlight intensifying on Brandon Staley’s coaching credentials after the Chargers’ 27-point capitulation against the Jaguars. Would they be willing to part ways this soon, without having the best idea of just how good he could be? The Patriots would love Brady back but it’s unlikely the feeling is mutual. Zach Wilson clearly isn’t the answer and will be playing as back-up next season, regardless of who gets brought in. “The issue goes beyond Brady, as far as the Bucs are concerned, they have to deal with this salary cap thing head-on.
