Part two of Denis Villeneuve's space-faring epic, Dune, is set to release in November 2023, which marks a first in the visionary director's career.

The first part was a huge success, so Villeneuve's hands are surely the safest bet to achieve success with Part Two. [Sicario](https://screenrant.com/tag/sicario/), whose sequel was directed by Italian director Stefano Sollima. Villeneuve did previously take on Blade Runner 2049, the sequel to 1982's Blade Runner, but this wasn't a follow-up to a film that he directed. Anticipation is rising for the release of the [Part Two](https://screenrant.com/dune-2-movie-sequels-story-plan-risks-good/) [ of Villeneuve's Dune](https://screenrant.com/dune-2-movie-sequels-story-plan-risks-good/), especially since the upcoming project will bring about a major change in the director's outstanding career. The 1984 film and 2000 miniseries adaptations faltered at bringing to life the full story of Dune, so Villeneuve wanted to truly tell the epic story over two lengthy features, marking a departure from his prior filmmaking patterns.
