Tonight they lost that final star by not giving the audience a unified whole: a set full of either the early stuff or the more complex material would be more coherent, but if they could generate more of those closing epics, that fifth star is guaranteed. Their two contrasting sounds occasionally synthesised, notably gloriously in set-closer Body Paint and above all with the encore 505. The contrasting sounds were interweaved throughout the Arctic Monkeys’ brief 90-minute set - from Saturday night party to Sunday morning comedown and back again and again.
