Nottingham Forest vs Wolves, Carabao Cup live: score and latest ... (Telegraph.co.uk)

Forest played a second-string side in the FA Cup defeat at Blackpool on Saturday, with Steve Cooper recalling all of the mainstays of his Premier League team.

Wolves did respond but the main problem is their lack of goals and it was evident again here. They did equalise in the 64th minute, after a well-worked move. The improvement in Wolves under Lopetegui since his arrival has been tangible, but this was a tough night. “Dean was fantastic in the 90 minutes keeping the ball out of the net and he carried that over to the shootout. We fought a lot and we had more chances, but we didn't score,” the Wolves manager said. We are unlucky and it will balance out over the rest of the season.

Nottingham Forest vs Wolves - Carabao Cup quarter-final: Live ... (Daily Mail)

Nottingham Forest's 4-1 defeat to Championship strugglers Blackpool in the FA Cup was branded 'unacceptable' by Steve Cooper.

Toti Gomes thought he had put Wolves 3-2 up late in the FA Cup third-round tie, only to be flagged offside. A Ruben Neves penalty in the 56th minute was the difference at Molineux. For Wolves, Julen Lopetegui has been a breath of fresh air. Can Raul Jimenez be the man to send Wolves to the next round? In the last-16, they put four past in-form Championship side Blackburn in a 4-1 rout to progress to the quarter-finals. The 22-year-old admitted to falling out of love with football amid a lack of minutes at Molineux and is relishing the chance to reach a cup semi-final with Forest.

Henderson the cup hero for Nottingham Forest in shootout win over ... (The Guardian)

After a 1-1 draw, Dean Henderson saved two penalties as Nottingham Forest reached the Carabao Cup semi-finals with a 4-3 shootout win against Wolves.

Wolves complained to Howard Webb, the head of the Professional Game Match Officials Board, and also contacted the Football Association, but the reality is they face a third-round replay against Liverpool on Tuesday. Gustavo Scarpa, who in December became Forest’s 23rd signing of the season, was the only player to keep his place. A couple of minutes later Henderson repelled Hwang Hee-chan’s crisp volley from Jiménez’s cross after the South Korea forward peeled off the returning Forest captain, Joe Worrall, who was among those to score in the shootout. Before kick-off the Trent End unravelled a display of their own; the words “New Team Same Dreams” were draped across the stand beside images of their triumphs of yesteryear under Clough, when they won the League Cup four times in 12 years, a magical era during which they lifted the First Division title and were also twice crowned champions of Europe. [fresh from a match-winning penalty shootout save](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2023/jan/11/nottingham-forest-wolves-carabao-cup-quarter-final-match-report), hurtled towards the Brian Clough Stand and slid on his backside, arms outstretched before the home supporters, wrapped up in savouring Nottingham Forest’s progress to the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup. Henderson would soon emulate Gibbs-White in taunting the away fans and it is fair to say the celebrations went down badly with Wolves.
