The chance he failed to convert was more of a credit to Carter-Vickers than his failing. Rangers proceeded to close out the half strong and then came back to take the lead before 10 minutes were gone. international failed to make his mark on the game. Celtic were on a 12-match league winning streak before the 2-2 draw at Ibrox and there's no reason to believe they can't pick up that pace in the matches that remain. His equalizer against Rangers gave him a league-leading 15th in the league season. Celtic supporters were up in arms about not receiving a second-half penalty for an apparent hand ball by Connor Goldson which was not whistled by referee John Beaton. Although Hart then tipped the ensuing Ryan Kent shot off the post, the momentum of the match shifted. But he disappeared after the goal. Matt O'Riley wasn't impactful in place of Aaron Mooy, and the selection of veteran James Forrest at right wing was questionable. When Celtic took the early lead with their trademark pressure and rapid movements it looked like game over early. He danced on the ball, and he had ideas and an extra spring in his step. There are two more head-to-head matches that remain, but Celtic's form and sizable goal difference means they have the decided edge.

Postecoglou's Celtic grab draw at Rangers (The West Australian)

Socceroo Aaron Mooy helped set up a late leveller for Ange Postecoglou's Celtic in a gripping see-saw Old Firm derby draw at Rangers.

Minutes later Fashion Sakala was brought down in the Celtic penalty area. Eight Australian internationals featuring in the six matches with Keanu Bacchus and Ryan Strain helping St Mirren to a goalless draw at Kilmarnock while Livingston missed a twice--taken penalty in a 1-1 draw with Motherwell. And the Socceroo was involved when Furuhashi levelled in the 88th minute, his cross finding its way to the Japan international who kept his head in a manic penalty box to salvage a point for the champions.

Kyogo Furuhashi's late equaliser denies Rangers to keep Celtic in ... (The Guardian)

Kyogo Furuhashi levelled with two minutes remaining to ensure Old Firm honours ended even in an entertaining 2-2 draw at Ibrox.

“It is disappointing but there were a lot of things in the performance that I needed to see. It seemed strange that the referee, John Beaton, was not asked to have a second look at a strong handball shout against Connor Goldson. Depressing though it is, none of this should register as a surprise. Celtic, who were well short of their best for all but the opening half-hour, will claim a moral victory on account of Kyogo Furuhashi’s late equaliser. It was one that stuttered and stalled as opposed to ripping and roaring. Had Beale’s men held onto the lead which existed with 87 minutes of this scrappy Old Firm clash played, the manager would have had cause to scoff at those who insist major surgery is required at Ibrox.

Celtic snatch late equaliser at Ibrox to retain league stranglehold (Morning Star Online)

Goalkeeper Joe Hart’s clearance was blocked by Morelos, who played the ball to midfielder Glen Kamara, who set up Kent for a drive. Substitutes Mooy, Jota and Georgios Giakoumakis were all involved in an attack inside the Gers box and when the ball fell to Furuhashi, the Japan striker lifted his shot high past McGregor for a share of the spoils, as seven minutes of added time could not provide a winner. Ibrox held its breath as Beaton checked for a possible handball in the Rangers penalty area after a Starfelt shot hit Goldson, but play continued, as it did following a second possible penalty claim for Celtic when again the ball came off Goldson minutes later. The forward’s effort was tipped onto the post by the recovering Hart before Fashion Sakala’s shot was blocked for a corner by Carl Starfelt. Celtic skipper Callum McGregor had a drive from outside the box tipped round the post by his goalkeeping namesake but the corner came to nothing. But in the 87th minute, Furuhashi flashed a shot from 12 yards high into the net to keep Ange Postecoglou’s side nine points clear of their Glasgow rivals at the top of the table.

Ange Postecoglou says Celtic are conditioned to fight until the end ... (Planet Sport)

Ange Postecoglou hailed the typical never-say-die attitude of his Celtic players after they fought back to snatch a dramatic 2-2 draw with Rangers at Ibrox.

"For the most part, I thought he handled it really well, but there is more to come from him, especially in an attacking sense once he gets to understand our games. Rangers started to retreat a bit which meant that hopefully we would get more balls in the box. He was up against a very good player in Ryan Kent. It's easy for me to talk about it, but in today's environment, and the way the game was, it would have been almost natural to say 'jeez, it's not going to be our day'. It's a difficult game to throw him into. You go till the final whistle and nothing changes.

'I will kid myself': Tight-lipped Ange's big Mooy dilemma as rival ... (Fox Sports)

'I will kid myself': Tight-lipped Ange's big Mooy dilemma as rival faces 'massive' test.

We won’t make a step backwards for Celtic or anyone who comes to Ibrox. It’s his first proper test in the dugout. “Unlike his three-and-a-half-year stint at Ibrox before, he’s the man now. And against a Rangers side with a new manager at the helm who has an almighty point to prove, Postecoglou will need every single one of his troops to step up in what could be the biggest domestic test the Aussie faces this season. “We will have a look at who is moving well, who can make the most impact to start the game with the full knowledge that whoever doesn’t start will be able to make a contribution coming off the bench.” Beale described the occasion as “the derby of all derbies” and insists it is a “privilege to be involved in”, but he is under no illusions when it comes to the size of the task that awaits. “Obviously, Michael hasn’t had a chance to change personnel too much yet, but whenever you get a new manager there’s a new energy within the building and you can see that in the first three of four games he’s been in charge.” “At this moment in time, Celtic have had a better rhythm than us but we have to do whatever it takes to get the result,” Beale said. [ Miller wrote in a column for the ](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/ones-you-michael-beale-rangers-28847747) [Daily Record](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/ones-you-michael-beale-rangers-28847747) [.](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/ones-you-michael-beale-rangers-28847747) And the Brit insists his side will not “make a step backwards” against a Celtic side who no doubt will be going full throttle at their opponents for 90 minutes. The Hoops take on bitter rivals Rangers at Ibrox in the latest iteration of the Old Firm, a match new Rangers boss Michael Beale has described as the “derby of all derbies”, with kick-off scheduled for 11:30pm AEDT on Monday night. But this time around, Postecoglou has a different adversary sitting in the opposite dugout and he’s no stranger to what this fixture is all about.

"The two goals [conceded] from us are poor goals to give away, certainly early in the game. We'd like to be two points closer, but there's 18 games to go and we need to keep improving here." "It was a great game of football. "In the second half, we showed that. Hart almost gifted Rangers an equaliser in the 27th minute.
