Stoinis' latest failure stings Stars as Scorchers storm to top of table.

Making matters worse for the Stars, Coulter-Nihle came from the field late in the game with a hamstring concern. Adam Zampa was dismissed for a golden duck with the final ball after a lack of communication, but the Stars had 135 to defend, which was far better than it could’ve been. His departure brought Stoinis to the crease, with the livewire looking for a big total after an underwhelming start to BBL12. Beau Webster came to the crease, but was dismissed off his first ball via lbw as things began to fall apart for the Stars. Marcus Stoinis and Nathan Coulter-Nile came back into the lineup for the Stars in what looms as a huge boost. The Stars won the bat flip and elected to bat first.

Boult was enterprising with a trio of sixes to finish 23 not out off 16 balls in his highest T20 score from 44 innings. He then made just four runs in a big home loss to Scorchers before being rested against Sydney Sixers on Boxing Day. Without injured skipper Glenn Maxwell, a lot of pressure has been on Marcus Stoinis to fire. Richardson wasn't done and in the 14th over he again claimed wickets with consecutive balls. He took eight wickets in his first three games before leaving empty-handed last start against Adelaide Strikers. Emerging as the frontrunner to be picked in the Sydney Test match, left-arm spinner Ashton Agar started well before copping late punishment to finish with 1 for 36 off four overs.

“I don’t think he would have torn it. “I don’t reckon he’s far away from a big score, it’s just a matter of picking his match-ups and picking the time when he goes, and I’ve got no doubt he’s going to fire for us very soon.” “I’m sure I’m due for a not-so-good game so whenever that comes, it’s about staying level-headed and making sure I can keep that confidence in myself to do well.” “I didn’t have a great run into the tournament and I was obviously a bit shaky heading into the first game. “To be in front of a home crowd again is so enjoyable, it’s the best time of the year.” “Big Bash is a fun time of year and what I’ve taken into this year is to just enjoy doing it and ride the wave.
