The member for Arafura in the Northern Territory parliament has died suddenly at the age of 52, the NT chief minister has announced.

My sincere condolences to Ebony and the family and to all those whose lives he touched. May he rest in peace. Northern Territory Government. /Public Release.

His passing is a huge loss for his family, friends and the Northern Territory. Family and friends meant everything to him and his generosity and care for people was enormous. His efforts throughout his working life impacted many peopleโ€™s lives for the better, delivering better services, jobs, homes and health outcomes.

She described the loss of the Labor backbencher as a "great sadness", and paid tribute to his time in office.
