The Game Awards 2022 featured a range of major surprises, including fresh World Premiere game reveals, flashy trailers, and more.
In addition to lightsaber gameplay, the new look showed off a rideable eagle-like creature, and plenty of high drama. It launches for PlayStation 5 and Windows PC on 24 January 2023, and now has a demo available for everyone to play. It’s the long-awaited Judas, a Bioshock-like adventure game starring strange creatures, a guilded world, and plenty of post-apocalyptic action. This showed off a futuristic world to romp through, plenty of neon glow, and new high-powered attacks. The cinematic trailer for the upcoming title showed off a lithe warrior facing off against a witch creature, all in gorgeous chiaroscuro lighting. This storybook-like game features a whimsical, isometric art style, and follows Cereza (a young Bayonetta) on her earliest adventures. In the trailer, Hellboy was seen fighting a were-beast in brawling, cinematic combat. In future, the game’s protagonist, The Beheaded, will be joined by Castlevania protagonists Alucard and Richter Belmont in a fight against Dracula. It’s time for the industry to recognise the games of the year – the successes, triumphs, and major delights we all enjoyed along the way. In After Us, you play as an ethereal young girl roaming a vast, post-apocalyptic world filled with strange environments, giant ghost animals, and plenty of beauty. With 2022 now fading into the rearview, it’s officially (and thankfully) time to focus on the future. You can follow along with The Game Awards 2022 on

The 2022 Game Awards kicked off in a big way. Not with a new blockbuster world premiere or a stunning upset, but with Scarface himself walking out on.

Supergiant Games officially announces that it's developing a sequel to the popular rogue-like Hades during The Game Awards 2022.
[Zagreus](https://gamerant.com/super-smash-bros-ultimate-hades-zagreus/), however, players take control of a new character referred to as a witch with the name Melinoe. Players will meet a roster of new characters, travel through new locations, discover new secrets, and embrace the rich world Supergiant Games has created step by step. Early Access for Hades 2 is planned for 2023. It is once again an isometric action game where the protagonist will wield different weapons, take on skills from the gods as they progress, and very likely repeat a loop of increasing challenge and reward. It's likely no coincidence that the original Hades was first announced at The Game Awards 2018, then later won awards for Best Indie and Best Action game during the Game Awards 2020. Each loop, whether it's a success or failure, offers a deeper look at Zagreus as a person, as players experience his developing relationships and growth all with some intense rogue-like action along the way.

It’s out in 2023 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X It’s been a bit quiet, but the game was confirmed to be still on its way for next year in 2023. It’s out on the 19th April 2023 and exclusive to the PlayStation 5. It’s due at the end of 2023. It wasn’t enough that Keanu Reeves was returning, but Idris Elba will also play a secret agent in the new DLC. While I didn’t find it quite as impressive as the original showing, the game looks high-octane and has a great soundtrack to boot. The game will feature up to three player co-op and pit players against new creatures and god-like bosses in “terrifying worlds”. It’s called Dune Awakening and it’s from the team who brought us Conan Exiles. The trailer is super intriguing and features Kojima’s signature sense of mystery and intrigue. The game is looking very much like Bioshock, as you’d expect. As is most of the stuff we see tonight. It’s due out in early 2023.
Winning best performance for his role as Kratos in God of War Ragnarök, Judge thanked his family and talked about his first audition for the part.
Though had it not happened, Keighley might’ve had a bit more breathing room to introduce the next award, as Judge’s speech definitely went on longer than expected. Thanking Cory Barlog, God of War’s director, for the chance to audition for the role, Judge said that, had he known a bit more about it, he might not’ve tried out for it. “I was the last actor in California to read for [God of War]. It’s wild to think that such a subtle twist of fate could’ve denied us a remarkable performance, in which case Judge wouldn’t have been on stage accepting an award for it tonight. Judge’s performance brought Kratos to life in an electrifying and instantly recognizable way. “First off, I have to thank my momma, whose belief that I would amount to something good would never waver.

That means Hades 2 should enter Early Access at some point in the future. Supergiant's next game, Hades 2, a sequel to the hit Hades game, was revealed at The Game Awards. Elden Ring took home just four awards at The Game Awards, about half of the awards it was nominated for overall. The Hideo Kojima game debuted with a spectacularly strange trailer that offered more questions than it did answers. It also picked up awards for Best Game Direction, Best Art Direction, and Best Roleplaying game. The colosseums allow players to face each other in combat, with six different types of challenges available for players to pick from. At first it seemed like they were a part of the team, but after the team had given its speeches, things got a little bit weird. Keighley closed out the awards show by saying goodbye and thanking viewers for watching, largely avoiding acknowledging what had just happened.
Hideo Kojima's next game has been revealed to be a sequel to the 2019 smash hit Death Stranding, in a strange new trailer at the Game Awards.

Immortals Of Aveum is coming in 2023, and brings with it a new chance to be an extremely badass wizard, which really is one of the main driving forces behind the games industry. There’s something about using the bones of a long-dead monster as a ramp that gets me excited, and this trailer certainly had lots of monsters that were big and dead. That seems like a surefire way to ruin the mystique, but there’s little to show what it’ll actually look like when we get to play. And in the seconds that followed, we were treated to a lovely first look at Earthblade, a 2024-slated pixel-art platformer where you control a girl with excellent black-and-silver hair, poke big blobby enemies in the eye, cling onto giant flesh walls, and touch portals to make them light up pleasingly and whisk you away to new areas of a ruined, corrupted Earth. It’s The Last Of Us Part 1, a gripping and emotional tale that just about everyone knows about by now, whether we played it or not back in 2013. After a “brief" intro from Geoff Keighley, the first trailer of the main show treated us to a look at Hades 2, a sequel to the smash-hit from Supergiant Games. From the sheer number of good-looking characters talking into a first-person player camera, it looks like they’re trying to capture some of that immersive next-gen feel of Cyberpunk 2077, with its seamless first-person cinematics. In addition to the spate of customary awards given out throughout the night, this year’s Game Awards was also host to a sizeable number of new game announcements and trailers. Kotaku had everybody quaking and stepping their fashion game up this year.
The Game Awards is a chance to have fun with fashion and to lean into the themes that are so often in the games the night is celebrating, so it was great to see some people really doing that last night. [Other publications wrote about the discourse](https://twitter.com/Shannon_Liao/status/1601017480733806592), developers weighed in, and the lead-up to The Game Awards became less about speculation over which game would win GOTY (spoilers: it was Elden Ring) and more about whether or not Josef Fares would wear a skin-tight t-shirt again (spoilers: he didn’t). The presenters and on-stage talent at this year’s Game Awards were almost uniformly sharper-dressed than in previous years, and even Phil Spencer seemed to be wearing a slightly more formal outfit.
Thursday's broadcast of The Game Awards got crashed by a 15-year-old prankster named Matan Even. In a phone interview with Polygon, Even failed to justify ...
At some point in the past, Matan Even may have thought this too, when he was making YouTube videos about police brutality in Hong Kong – or perhaps he was always doing it for the clout, and the only reason he abandoned pro-Hong Kong activism in favor of this new bullshit is that he never really had any cause other than his own desire for attention. I asked Even whether he thought his words would have an impact on other people and their views, especially in light of the many anti-Semitic conspiracy theories that have circulated online, some of which involve Bill and Hillary Clinton. It was just a huge waste of time, and also, a statement that could lead to continued discrimination against Matan Even himself. But the difference is that I actually give a shit about saying something that matters – or at least something clever. And the fact that he was not even nominated, not won any of them – I was completely devastated.” But I think if we want to look at somebody who is very knowledgeable on politics, I think we should look at —” “And I think that, you know, we can look at him as somebody who should be running every government in the world.” The Los Angeles Police Department told Polygon that although a police report was taken, “there is no arrest related to this incident.” Even declined to comment on the specifics of his detention, admitting only to having been escorted offstage by security guards. This resulted in invitations to appear on the far-right, conspiracy-spreading broadcast InfoWars, hosted by Owen Shroyer, who [interviewed Even in 2019 and 2020](https://www.vice.com/en/article/y3pj5w/the-kid-who-crashed-the-game-awards-was-on-inforwars-when-he-was-12). When asked about his own political leanings, Even insisted that the only future candidate he would vote for is Bill Clinton, although Even is currently too young to register to vote and Clinton cannot run for president again, having already served two terms from 1992 to 2000. Or was it simply a wasted opportunity to tell millions of viewers something else that mattered – or even something that might be funny to anyone other than six of his friends on Discord? When reached by phone on Friday (and with his parents’ permission), Even refused to break character and dodged questions about everything from his political leanings to the circumstances of his removal from the Game Awards stage.
Two days ago, in the days leading up to The Game Awards 2022, I wrote about how the wildly inconsistent fashion at the event was indicative of the.
I pointed that out in my aforementioned story, and I think he might have heard me, because at the 2022 Game Awards, Fares wore a very well-fitting suit. At the 2021 Game Awards, Josef Fares wore a beige T-shirt and skinny jeans. The Game Awards is a chance to have fun with fashion and to lean into the themes that are so often in the games the night is celebrating, so it was great to see some people really doing that last night. He wore a black suit and a black scarf, as is the Pacino tradition, but he pulled a fast one on us by wearing the same sneakers as queer baristas across the globe: all-black HOKAs. Danny was one of the first people to reach out to me and make sure I knew that not everyone dresses casual for The Game Awards, so him and wife Riana Manuel-Peña making this list is no surprise. [Twitter bio](https://twitter.com/jayannlopez_), and this picture sums it right up. If there’s no official dress code (still don’t know the answer to this), then putting in an effort and wearing something with style goes a long, long way. Henwick looks comfy and cool in this look, which I desperately want in every colour so I can wear it to the office. Sure, it feels like she exists at the crossroads between Björk and Grimes, but you cannot deny that her outfit and styling are very cool and very European. Tan came in a head-to-toe Cult of the Lamb look which would earn them a spot on this list even if it didn’t look as god damn good as it does. The presenters and on-stage talent at this year’s Game Awards were almost uniformly sharper-dressed than in previous years, and even Phil Spencer seemed to be wearing a slightly more formal outfit.
The Game Awards didn't disappoint GamesBeat's Rachel Kaser, surprisingly, and the night was filled with unexpected appearances.
We want to tell you how the news matters to you -- not just as a decision-maker at a game studio, but also as a fan of games. This year, it was the appearance of Al Pacino, of all people, to present the performance award, the genuinely enjoyable Animal cameo (and his back-and-forth with Bear McCreary, who seemed truly happy to see him), and finally a random kid who crashed Hidetaka Miyazaki’s acceptance speech. But let’s talk trailers — and speaking of Bayonetta, I was not expecting
The Game Awards came to an odd close Thursday night when a teenage boy crashed the stage and nominated former president Bill Clinton for an honor.
He claimed his Clinton reference “wasn’t intended to be a dog whistle for far-right conspiracies.” Instead, it came off as a convoluted way to “just praise Bill Clinton.” [Review: The Game Awards celebrate growth in video games, but the ceremony still needs to evolve](https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/story/2022-12-09/the-game-awards-recap) His image was a screenshot of developer Miyazaki making his way to the stage, with Even close behind. But he then rushed to catch up with the “Elden Ring” crew, blending in with developer Hidetaka Miyazaki. Clinton, who has been referenced in a handful of video games — including the “Political Machine” franchise — was president from 1993 to 2001. “If I didn’t think it would happen, I wouldn’t have bought a ticket,” Even told The Times. The Times spoke to Even on Friday about his Game Awards moment. He confirmed that the suspect was detained, but not arrested, for “theatrical exhibition.” California-based YouTuber Matan Even admitted on Friday that he was the ceremony’s crasher. Thank you, everybody,” he said, stealing the shine from the “Elden Ring” team, which However, the evening came to a baffling end when a teenager sneaked onstage to shout out a former president.
