Chelsea vs Dinamo Zagreb : Lineups and LIVE updates (Goal.com)

Graham Potter's Chelsea look to extend their fine form in Europe as they face Dinamo Zagreb in hopes of redemption.

Although Dinamo Zagreb’s Champions League dream will come to an end at the conclusion of the game, the Croatian side could still steal a Europa League spot. Ante Cacic’s men would want to replicate their performance from the reverse fixture, a game that saw the end of Chelsea’s previous manager Thomas Tuchel. Since donning the managerial hat at Stamford Bridge, Graham Potter has transformed Chelsea into a formidable outfit.

However, Chelsea were soon rewarded for their opportunities when Zakaria sent a low drive past goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic. Defender Sadegh Moharrami was on the post and managed to get a boot to the ball, but was unable to prevent it crossing the line. The home side had a chance to go ahead in the 26th minute, as Kalidou Koulibaly tried to guide the ball goalwards with a header from a corner, but it was over the bar.

Chelsea star Mason Mount shares Denis Zakaria theory after two ... (Daily Express)

Mason Mount was one of the first to receive the bad news from Chelsea left-back Ben Chilwell.

He deserves man of the match more than me, and he scored as well." The trio of games kicks off on Sunday with a crunch London derby against Arsenal, before an EFL Cup tie against Manchester City and a final league game at St James' Park. Mount was awarded Man of the Match after the final whistle but the England star claimed that his Swiss team-mate may have been a more worthy choice. Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain are among them, with the draw set to take place on Monday. However, amid a change of management he had slipped way down the pecking order and hadn't even been used from the bench until Wednesday evening. He had to be assisted off the pitch and he was later spotted leaving Stamford Bridge on crutches.

Chelsea player ratings as Denis Zakaria delivers on debut, Chilwell ... (Football.London)

Denis Zakaria and Raheem Sterling got on the scoresheet as Chelsea overcame Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang - Knocked the ball back to Sterling for the England international's goal but perhaps looked most promising with his efforts attacking on the left side of the pitch. Raheem Sterling - Showed fantastic strength and composure in the build up to finding the net for Chelsea's equaliser. Kai Havertz - Played quite a fluid role alongside Raheem Sterling and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and was one of the Blues main outlets forward. Initiated the move that led to Raheem Sterling's goal and had one of his better nights. The Swiss international was soon showing his physicality and even the ability to score a goal as he slotted past a Dinamo defender and goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic. Showed quality on the ball on his return and after a slow start seemed to grow stronger in the tackle.

Chelsea run Dinamo ragged to finish top of the group (Morning Star Online)

DEFEAT to Dinamo Zagreb lost Thomas Tuchel his job in September. Tuchel was already under pressure before Chelsea's 1-0 defeat in the Croatian capital.

Here was his debut, and on 30 minutes he arrived at the right place at the right time to plunder home a debut goal. Mislav Orsic’s corner provided the still-jubilant away fans with a reason to stand — not that they needed one — but Sutalo’s header was well saved by Mendy. He took the ball and bent it into the corner with accuracy to match Jorginho’s original pass. Chelsea, as the rain began to pour, were securing top spot in the group with style. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang smashed the crossbar as Chelsea hunted for their assurance goal. Mason Mount’s guile and determination started it, but Zakaria very much finished it — battering the ball through the diving goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic and the lunging defender Moharrami. Deployed at wing-back at the weekend. The ball fell into the path of Bruno Petkovic, who converted to give the visitors a shock early lead. But he turned back, triggering a blue mass around the ground to groan and gasp and jeer. The Italian learned his lesson. And with the match not even seven minutes old, they could almost be heard back in Croatia as their side — already eliminated from the Champions League — took an unexpected lead. Tuchel was already under pressure before Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat in the Croatian capital.

Why is Chelsea vs Arsenal kicking off at 12pm on a Sunday? (The Athletic)

A couple of Premier League games this season have already raised eyebrows among supporters as their teams have had to play at times that aren't familiar as ...

With no more European football until February, there are no plans for any of the other confirmed televised games to be played in the midday Sunday slot. In this particular scenario, the game has had to be moved to the early Sunday slot because of Arsenal’s Europa League commitments. After being beaten by Liverpool on a Wednesday evening back in March, Arsenal had to prepare themselves for the early weekend trip to Aston Villa. Instead, they get an extra day to recover and prepare with the game being played, and shown, on Sunday instead. The weekend usually kicks off at 12.30pm on a Saturday with BT Sport having the rights to that particular slot. On weekends that succeed European midweeks, there will be more games on a Sunday which, this season, involve Arsenal, Manchester United and West Ham United — the three English sides that play their European matches on Thursdays.
