This marks the 14th time in his career that Lillard has been named the NBA Western Conference Player of the Week with the last time occurring on Nov. It is the fifth time in his career that Lillard has recorded at least 40 points in consecutive games. To kick off the 2022-23 NBA season, Lillard averaged 34.0 points (47.1% FG, 36.4% 3-PT, 92.9% FT), 5.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 37.9 minutes per game in victories at Sacramento, home against Phoenix and at the Los Angeles Lakers.

The All-Stars each led their squads to an undefeated 3-0 start to the 2022-23 season.

Damian Lillard's hot 3-0 start for the Portland Trail Blazers has earned him the Western Conference Player of the Week.

He’s doing so on an uber efficient 58.7 percent shooting from the floor, with a double-double to his resume. One aspect of play for Lillard to be mindful of are turnovers. On the floor, when it matters, he’s exhibited his classic, mild-mannered form of leadership that has been evident in the win column. While early, Lillard is one of only three players – including Tatum – to be averaging 34 points or better. Damian Lillard has been nothing short of sensational, leading the Blazers to their first 3-0 start since 2011-12. Lillard has also been a leader and facilitator of team camaraderie.
