This greatly dials down the risk of clicking a shady link and getting a computer virus. The team also showed off tests for new library sharing features and cross-platform play. Instead of a basic pre-made bed, the revamped interface showed the ability to customize the bed's base and footboard. The development team will continue to release game updates and Sims Delivery Express drops to keep the base game fresh and fun. The new teased interface looks like a program you'd use as an interior designer, which would greatly elevate the realism of The Sims. The Sims 5 wasn't explicitly mentioned and because this is such an early sneak peek, it's likely that the final iteration of Project Rene will look quite different.

During this year's The Sims Summit, EA celebrated its long-running and massively popular series with a showcase of all things The Sims.

The game will seemingly also feature some degree of multiplayer/online play with Pearson saying, “With Project Rene, we want to make it easier to work together and share. VP of Franchise Creative for The Sims, Lyndsay Pearson, describes the project as “the future of The Sims, built on a foundation of charming Sims, powerful tools, and meaningful stories.” Improvements to the Sims 4 (and The Sims Freeplay) aside, the publisher also took the opportunity to give fans a very early inside look at the next evolution of The Sims.
