Wind gusts, downed tree cause Tecumseh power outage Wednesday (The Daily Telegram)

Nearly 1900 residents in Tecumseh were without power from 3:08 to 9:53 p.m. Wednesday after wind gusts blew a tree onto a utility pole and lines.

If people smell natural gas or see a downed power line, they should to head to a safe place and call 911 and then contact Consumers at 800-477-5050. Power lines are not insulated and if touched people could be severely injured or killed. The estimated time of restoration, or ETR, is automatically generated in Consumersโ€™ system, DeDoes said. The actual restoration of power came in between those times. โ€œWind gusts picked up across the state (Wednesday) afternoon.โ€ Customers were affected by the outage between 3:08 and 9:53 p.m., according to Terry DeDoes, Consumers Energy spokesperson.
