Nearly 1900 residents in Tecumseh were without power from 3:08 to 9:53 p.m. Wednesday after wind gusts blew a tree onto a utility pole and lines.

If people smell natural gas or see a downed power line, they should to head to a safe place and call 911 and then contact Consumers at 800-477-5050. Power lines are not insulated and if touched people could be severely injured or killed. The estimated time of restoration, or ETR, is automatically generated in Consumers’ system, DeDoes said. The actual restoration of power came in between those times. “Wind gusts picked up across the state (Wednesday) afternoon.” Customers were affected by the outage between 3:08 and 9:53 p.m., according to Terry DeDoes, Consumers Energy spokesperson.
