Scorn, the first-person horror game out of Ebb Software, will now be releasing one whole week earlier according to its publisher Kepler Interactive.
[Given how busy that particular week of October is](https://press-start.com.au/features/2022/07/09/start-saving-for-october-because-theres-a-buttload-of-games-coming-out/), it’s probably a sound strategy to get the game out ahead of the real rush. [James recently got to go hands-on with the game’s prologue](https://press-start.com.au/previews/2022/09/21/scorn-hands-on-preview-a-hauntingly-atmospheric-prologue/) and lauded the game’s atmosphere stating: “The atmosphere is so perfectly executed that even if it falls short in any other area, I’ll still find it charming in a strange and macabre way.” We’re certainly eager to get our hands on the game when it launches. It’s being moved up to October 14, a week ahead of its original October 21 release date.
Scorn, the upcoming H.R. Giger-inspired puzzle adventure, is coming out earlier than expected.

I am onboard with that in theory, although Ed also found its puzzles obtuse and needed developer intervention to progress: We've been writing about Scorn for six years now, and its world of meat, bone and gristle has been compelling that entire time.

There’s been no clear explanation as to why the game suddenly moved its release date up a bit, but given how steeped it is in horror, I have to imagine developer Ebb Software and publisher Xbox wanted to get it out ahead of Halloween. it’s a lot of trailer to take in at once.
