The Australian Opals dropped their opening game at the FIBA World Cup, going down 70-57 to France.
The Opals' offence struggled to get going in their opening game, shooting just 26 percent from the field and 21.7 percent from three, finding success with their energy and activity on the glass, creating plenty of second-chance opportunities. Jackson had her moments early in the game, but was on the bench throughout the third quarter, finishing with three points and one rebound in her return to the national team. The Opals trailed by just one point at half-time and were still in the game entering the final frame, but a dominant fourth quarter from France blew the game open as they cruised to a 13-point victory.
