FitzSimons has long been in favour of Australia cutting ties with the monarchy. Ironically, his wife Lisa Wilkinson is now overseas covering the Queen’s funeral for The Project. Alison Langdon than chimed in and said she’d told FitzSimons she was not prepared to support a Republic under his chairman reign and said, “I did tell Peter if he was at the front of the movement, I would always vote for a monarchy,” she said.
