An evolution to the cloud: Discover how a collaboration between Ericsson, VMware and Dell Technologies is enhancing Ericsson's Digital BSS portfolio.
At the same time, Ericsson, VMware and Dell Technologies take their individual responsibilities from a commercial, delivery and support perspective. Beyond hardware utilization, the reference architecture also simplifies deployment and maintenance of the Kubernetes cluster by CSPs, using open source the Kubernetes cluster application programming interfaces (API)natively supported by VMware products. [Ericsson Digital BSS](/en/portfolio/cloud-software--services/digital-bss) components, driven by a clear strategy for new products to adopt [cloud-native concepts](/en/cloud-native) and to evolve the existing portfolio to embrace a microservice-based architecture. - The mixing and matching of different workloads: The reference architecture allows the mixing and matching different workloads with different operating systems, allowing multiple Kubernetes clusters to be created on the same physical hardware. For customers thecertification demonstrates that the reference architecture between VMware Tanzu and Ericsson Charging is highly reliable, robust and scalable, and moreover, can be deployed into their production environments in the shortest possible time. The latest example of this is our collaboration with VMware and Dell Technologies, in which VMware provided the application platform that drives scale across multi-cloud environments and Kubernetes operations, with Dell Technologies supporting the entire cloud ecosystem with its infrastructure solution.

This automated infrastructure will be designed to use Dell software for full stack integration of Red Hat OpenShift on scalable Dell software-defined storage and compute to deliver cloud flexibility and help simplify on-premises operations. The Dell Validated Platform for Red Hat OpenShift, powered by Intel, streamlines deployment processes and management of on-premises infrastructure for container orchestration with fully documented deployment and configuration guidance. APEX Containers for Red Hat OpenShift provides IT organizations and their developers with a Dell-managed, on-premises Container-as-a-Service solution on Dell infrastructure. Delivered as a subscription, Dell oversees infrastructure management activities and operations. “With Dell APEX and Red Hat OpenShift, developers can focus on delivering innovative products and services and alleviate supporting infrastructure concerns.” “By extending our existing collaboration with Dell, we’re giving customers even more choice and flexibility in their hybrid cloud operations, pairing the industry’s leading enterprise Kubernetes platform in Red Hat OpenShift with Dell’s powerful infrastructure technologies.
The vendors' expanded partnership aims to let developers develop once and deploy anywhere, according to Dell's Caitlin Gordon.
“The more we can simplify and make that infrastructure common, the easier it really is from an IT perspective,” she explained. And to support the Dell validated platform, she touted a pro-deploy option that includes not just the Dell infrastructure, “but actually the Red Hat OpenShift as well.” Another piece of this expanded partnership is Dell’s validated platform for Red Hat OpenShift, which “is really about having the deployment documented [and] configuration guidance to simplify and streamline an OpenShift environment but also really to give some huge benefits of” Dell’s underlying infrastructure, Gordon explained. “How do we enable our customers to go even further than what we’ve done with that validated platform? That’s the backdrop of what we are doing here,” she said. So, from support, deploy, all the way to the entire fleet management operation,” Dell takes management off the shoulders of developers, Iyer explained.
The Dell XPS 13 Plus takes the much loved XPS 13, adds a new modern design, and ensures that it remains at the top of the performance game.
As you would expect, the Dell XPS 13 Plus comes with Windows 11, and thankfully there isn’t much bloatware to contend with here. The webcam on the Dell XPS 13 Plus has a 720p resolution, and that’s at a time when many manufacturers, including Apple, are upgrading to 1,080p. Dell has built a quad-speaker system into the XPS 13 Plus, and it was able to deliver relatively deep audio with decent detail. In day-to-day use, the XPS 13 Plus performed excellently. Now, obviously, there are no longer actual spaces between the keys themselves, but the keys are relatively large, and as a result, typing on the XPS 13 Plus feels similar to typing, for example, on the MacBook Air. The Dell XPS 13 Plus is, on paper, one of the top-performing productivity laptops out there. The XPS 13 Plus is thin and light, too. One of the most interesting things about the Dell XPS 13 Plus is its design. In classic XPS 13 fashion, the display on the laptop of pretty much edge-to-edge. The keyboard on the Dell XPS 13 Plus offers a good amount of travel and excellent button spacing. The entry-level model offers a 1,920 x 1,200 non-touch display, a 1,920 x 1,200 touch display, a 3,456 x 2,160 OLED touch display, and a 3,840 x 2,400 touch display. While you might assume that the XPS 13 Plus is either a bigger or more powerful version of the standard XPS 13, the new laptop instead serves as an introduction to a new design language for the laptop series, while still retaining excellent performance and a range of awesome features.
I was not sure if this was actually shipping or not, but I just received a Dell laptop that has Windows 11 22H2, build 22621.521.

Atkinson will lead the data protection provider’s partner organization, Commvault announced on Wednesday, while John Tavares is leaving the company. But if you're concerned with functionality first, especially with a combination of a big screen and good battery life, this is a capable big-screen choice for general use. Though competent across the board, the Inspiron isn't a standout. Battery life is one of the Inspiron 16 Plus' strengths, with more than 15 hours of runtime in our video rundown. Finally, the [Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio](/laptops/89901/microsoft-surface-laptop-studio) is a versatile option for creatives who need touch input, but it comes at a high cost. The Dell isn't a The laptop also supports [Wi-Fi 6E](/networking/84969/what-is-wi-fi-6e) and Bluetooth. Finally, we use the open-source video transcoder HandBrake 1.4 to convert a 12-minute video clip from 4K to 1080p resolution (lower times are better). The keyboard provides comfortable typing with decent travel and feedback, though the keycaps feel a bit smaller than you'd expect in a laptop this size (especially since there's no numeric keypad). The Inspiron 16 Plus loses some of its value proposition (and misses an Editors' Choice award this time around) due to its higher price tag, and its build quality is less premium than some competitors in this price range. At 0.75 by 14.1 by 9.9 inches (HWD) and 4.51 pounds, the Dell is quite thin (tapering to an even thinner 0.67 inch at the front edge), though its 16-inch display and onboard components keep it from being super-light. This style has led to huge success for Apple's MacBooks and Dell's own XPS line, though the 7620's design and materials fall a bit short of that premium feel. The Inspiron's build and visual design is relatively unassuming—a clean, minimalistic style with a splash of muted color—despite the fairly potent components inside.
