Australia vs New Zealand LIVE: Rugby Championship latest score ... (The Independent)

A crucial Bledisloe Cup match at Marvel Stadium sees the All Blacks and Wallabies square off.

He is cut down and forced to hold on - New Zealand kick for touch. New Zealand’s maul leaves the station at speed and there is plenty of coal in the engine, Jake Gordon unintentionally knocking it off the tracks as he is rather buffeted backward by it. Jordan falls awkwardly over Marika Koroibete - a penalty coming, but New Zealand might just make the most of the advantage... The conversion extends New Zealand’s advantage. With three playmakers on the pitch there are options aplenty for the New Zealand attack. Mathieu Raynal penalises the New Zealand prop, but decides there is no more sanction needed with Lomax just about managing to ensure Fainga’a came down on his back. A third yellow for Australia! The All Blacks look to be making a mess of clearing their lines but switch into attacking mode in an instant, Jordie Barrett spotting Caleb Clarke all alone with chalk on his heels on the left. A much-needed Australia try! Beauden Barrett steps up into the line with Will Jordan in the sidecar, the replacement lifting a dainty little chip for Jordan to rush on to and take. The lineout goes awry! Australia will be back to 15 in about a minute.

Australia v New Zealand live: Score and latest updates from the ... (Telegraph.co.uk)

Like much of this year's Rugby Championship, at times it hasn't been that pretty, but it has been captivating and chaotic.

After heavy wins for New Zealand and South Africa in the last round - against Argentina and Australia respectively - the All Blacks sit atop the standings by a point. Yes, it has not been a vintage tournament in terms of standard, but what a turnaround that would be for Ian Foster and his coaching team, who were on the verge of sackings a month ago. Detailed team news will follow, but one selection that caught the eye was that of Bernard Foley at fly-half for Australia. After a weekend off, the Rugby Championship comes back with a bang. Australia fought back to all square on the scoreboard but then lost two players to the bin at the end of the half. Foley spills a bomb and the All Blacks ignite an attack. Penalty New Zealand at the scrum. Other than Ardie Savea - whom Sotutu replaces today due to paternity leave - New Zealand can lack explosiveness in the ball-carry. Imagine a back row of Frizzell (when fit), Savea at openside and Sotutu at No 8. There are too many Premiership matches on a Saturday afternoon, which means that no amateur or semi-pro player can go and watch their local professional team in person. The All Blacks attack from inside their own half and Ioane finds a half-gap and explodes through it. The depleted Wallabies try to scramble across but there are too many numbers out wide.

Rugby Championship: All Blacks win Bledisloe Cup for 20th ... (planetrugby.com)

For Australia, Andrew Kellaway (2), Rob Valetini and Pete Samu crossed the whitewash with Bernard Foley adding four conversions and two penalties and White also ...

The match was far from done, though, as White slotted a 48-metre penalty to give his side an unlikely lead, but there would be a crazy ending when Raynal awarded a penalty to Australia in the 79th minute. The visitors made a fine start to the second half when shortly after the restart Kellaway was caught in possession just inside his half. They launched a maul which was stopped close to the try-line by Dalton Papali’i but the ball was recycled quickly and Valetini dotted down with two defenders on his back. New Zealand went on the attack and set up a lineout drive from which Taukei’aho crossed for the opening try. Mo’unga also succeeded with four conversions and two penalties to finish with a 19-point haul. [All Blacks](https://www.planetrugby.com/team/new-zealand) lost the services of their captain, Sam Cane, and David Havili, who both failed HIAs while Quinn Tupaea also limped off with a knee injury.

New Zealand edge Australia 39-37 in Rugby Championship 'classic' (FRANCE 24)

New Zealand's Jordie Barrett scored a try at the death as the All Blacks beat Australia 39-37 in a thriller Thursday to put one hand on the Rugby ...

Probably the most cutting way to finish again, in my opinion." "To win on the buzzer we’re hugely delighted." In a huge blow for Australia, Kellaway had a try disallowed for failing to properly ground the ball, but they had momentum and Rob Valetini crashed over for a converted try to level the scores. Nic White nailed a penalty with three minutes to go to put Australia in front, only for Barrett to cross after the final siren and ruin their night. A New Zealand try 90 seconds after the restart -- Samisoni Taukei'aho's second -- and a third yellow card for Australia appeared to end any hopes the home team had. Melbourne (AFP) – New Zealand's Jordie Barrett scored a try at the death as the All Blacks beat Australia 39-37 in a thriller Thursday to put one hand on the Rugby Championship trophy and retain the Bledisloe Cup for a 20th year.

Harsh refereeing costs Wallabies win and masks All Blacks ... (The Guardian)

Late Bledisloe Cup call was very debatable and New Zealand again looked fallible 13 months before the World Cup.

Andrew Kellaway contributed a lovely second-half try but his failure to ground the ball after a slick first-half move was to prove extremely costly. Australia will be massively disappointed, consequently, to have let their visitors off the hook. Instead it was a flawed, fluctuating match to give the national coaches of Ireland, England, Wales or even Scotland further encouragement about what the next 13 months might hold. Of course World Rugby wants to speed up the game. Or, as the Australian captain, James Slipper, put it: “That was probably the most gutting way to finish a game.” Having awarded Australia a turnover penalty with the game clock showing 78 minutes and 25 seconds, the French referee, Mathieu Raynal, changed his mind and gave a New Zealand scrum with the timer by now showing 79:04.
