He’s very special to me and this club and the time we had here. 'Being a role model for those kids gives them hope in life. Chaos and carnage with Radley, Burgess, Milne, JWH sin-binned ... (The Roar)

The Elimination Final between the Sydney Roosters and South Sydney has kicked off in bizarre fashion with Latrell Mitchell kicking downfield on the first ...

He got up and played the ball the wrong way before being sent for an HIA. “It was unbelievable when they went a man down I thought we’re on here and then we conceded two tries,” Souths coach Jason Demetriou told Fox League on the field straight after the game. Down to a squad of 13, the Roosters were reduced to 12 on the field after Jared Waerea-Hargreaves was banished to the bin for a head slam on Burgess in the 50th minute. Crichton was ruled out for the rest of the game at half-time after he was taken off to be assessed following a shoulder to the head while trying to tackle a fired-up Burgess in the 33rd minute. “I’ve never seen anything like it, it was brutal. Tom Burgess was sin-binned for a high tackle on Matt Lodge soon after a similar hit on Tedesco in the 18th minute and when Milne suffered the same fate for a hit on opposing winger Joseph Suaalii at the mid-point of a crazy first half, the Roosters were playing against 11 Rabbitohs.

'Bashed down 10 times, got up 11': Latrell's 'emotional' interview as Souths fans erupt.

“Now I get to express that with the best club in the world. It shouldn’t happen (in the elimination final).” It’s just so good, I love the community. “I’ve been bashed down 10 times and I got up 11, and it’s all worth it when you’ve got the support and I know it’s there and it outweighs the bad and I’m very grateful.” “It’s an emotional one, it’s been a few years (since I left the Roosters) and situations went on, but I worked really hard on myself to get myself to this moment,” he said. All eyes were on Mitchell as he went up against his former club again and while the fans attempted to ruffle his feathers, the 25-year-old rose above it and at one stage even put his finger up to his lips in a signal to silence the crowd.

The fullback has struggled recently with relentless booing, but left Sydney Stadium in raptures after helping thrash former team the Roosters.

It's so good, I love the community. Latrell Mitchell was one of the Rabbitohs stars, converting five from five and even scoring a try himself after breaking through the Roosters' defence. It's a bitter rivalry, and Sunday night's game between the Roosters and the Rabbitohs had plenty of fireworks.
