Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey and Maya Rudolph have unveiled the first trailer for Disenchanted, the sequel to Disney's 2007 hit movie.

I can’t believe I got to be a part of this — it’s not easy being mean to Amy Adams but we had so much fun together. The movie takes place 15 years after Giselle (Adams) and Robert (Dempsey) wed, but Giselle has grown disillusioned with life in the city, so they move their growing family to the sleepy suburban community of Monroeville in search of a more fairy tale life. Suburbia has a whole new set of rules and a local queen bee, Malvina Monroe (Maya Rudolph), who makes Giselle feel more out of place than ever.

Enchanted was such a fantastic return to form or Disney—self-aware, funny, romantic and creative—it would be a shame if the sequel was a disappointment. Amy Adams Returns As Giselle In Disney's First Disenchanted Trailer (Game Rant)

Happily ever after may not be as happy as expected in Amy Adams' Disenchanted, a sequel to Disney's surprise hit 2007 film Enchanted.

Perhaps she's [some kind of evil fairy godmother](https://gamerant.com/fairy-godmothers-how-disney-invented-an-archetype-cinderella/)? So as a sequel where audiences get to not only see what happens after "happily ever after," but also see the continuation of what would have usually been a throwaway gag, Disenchanted has potential as a pretty fresh premise. [Walt Disney Studios](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dRuwjZJ-DQw), sets the stage for fans who remember the beloved original Enchanted. It's not exactly rare to take a clichéd idea and flip it around for a clever new story, but those takes tend to be more of a one-off. Sharp-eyed viewers will even notice the return of that 2D animation seen in Enchanted, which certainly makes sense since Giselle living in the real world doesn't mean that her cartoon home of Andalasia ceased to exist. [Disney](https://gamerant.com/tag/disney/) adventure, she and her husband Robert (Patrick Dempsey) are moving to the suburbs, but things aren't as picture-perfect as they look.
