A new fan theory about Thor: Love and Thunder about Korg's narration could totally change how you watch the MCU movie, now out on Disney+.
However, it does certainly add a fun meta level to the narrative as Korg is voiced by Taika Waititi, the co-writer and director of the movie. It's not too different to 'the birds and the bees' talk that we've all been subjected to a variation of in our lives. As the theory argues, if you were telling a story to a group of children, it's exactly the kind of twist you'd put on a battle that maybe just involved Thor and Mighty Thor battling Gorr. He thinks the reason Stormbreaker isn't cooperating to teleport to Omnipotent City is because Stormbreaker is jealous that Mjolnir is back. "This is why they construct the goat boat to travel to Omnipotent City and the Shadow Realm... It's a very funny recurring gag in the movie, but maybe it comes as a result of Korg not understanding how Stormbreaker works. Following a chilling cold open focused on Gorr, the movie opens with Korg telling the story of Thor to a group of children. "Stormbreaker uses the Bifrost. Yggdrasil is a system of portals connecting 9 planets in 9 different galaxies (aka realms). The theory argues that the result of these bookends is that everything we see in the movie is Korg's version of events, embellished as a result of entertaining the children and just for the sake of it. Korg pops up throughout to narrate the story and the movie returns to Korg's story time with the children at the end.
