“He just gets sat on and it hasn’t really worked for them in a sense. “It’d be a blessing for St Kilda if he does go because it takes a lot of money off the books,” he said. But Hill’s exit would be a win for the Saints, who finished just outside the top eight for the second straight year, according to Lloyd. “I think they have to go aggressive now that Clarko is there for 22 to 26-year-olds and high-end guys ... “I think in the past, guys like Dom Tyson have been on the list for a long time, Aaron Hall has played some okay footy but where has it taken them?” Lloyd said. But Hill, 29, would be the wrong type of target for the back-to-back wooden spooners according to Lloyd. The Hawks and Saints have been closely linked to Amon - his mum works at St Kilda and he grew up as a fan of the club - but he’s set to land at Waverley Park. “To me, that’s wrong if they go down that track,” he said on 3AW’s Sportsday. Hill is reportedly open to a trade away from St Kilda, which could see him joining a fourth AFL club, having two years left to run on his deal worth $900,000 a season. North Melbourne coach Alastair Clarkson has hinted at bringing his old Hawthorn charge Bradley Hill across to his new club, but Essendon legend Matthew Lloyd believes it would be a bad idea.
