Five losses in a row, it’s not the way we saw ending the season but two games to go and we’ve just got to look at the positives.” “We’ve had plenty of comeback wins at the ground, dating back to when I was a young 20-year-old. “We’ve got a fair bit of talent on the sideline. We know what it feels like now when we’re playing the style we want to play.” New journey begins next year but unfortunately we couldn’t get the win tonight,” Foran said. Manly had their chances too and produced an increasing amount of scoring opportunities as the game went on, eventually culminating in Manly avoiding getting held to zero points. The Sharks went close again soon after, only for Ronaldo Mulitalo to make an error close to the line and then be denied by some great defence just minutes following that. Manly, however, couldn’t convert the extra effort into points and it was Cronulla who got on the scoreboard first in the second period with Nicho Hynes adding to his try involvements with another four pointer of his own 54 minutes in.

Flegg Sharks slump to Sea Eagles loss (Cronulla Sharks)

The Jersey Flegg Sharks have slumped to a heavy defeat the hands of the Manly Sea Eagles in their round 23 clash at 4Pines Park.

At 12-points down a second half comeback wasn't out of the question for the young Cronulla side, however five tries in 15 minutes by the Sea Eagles, coming from a combination of expansive play and some Sharks errors and at 38 to 4 the result was confirmed. Despite being well and truly out of the running for a Finals berth it seemed like the Sea Eagles had more to play for, with the home side playing with more energy in managing two converted tries before the break to take a 16-4 advantage to half time. The Sharks were unable to find any sort of rhythm in a match where Manly were dominant throughout, the home team winning 50-22, leaving the Finals hopes of the Cronulla side now dependent on a victory in their last game with other results also falling in their favour.
