Despite being a man down, the All Blacks produced a big finish as Havili and Scott Barrett scored tries to complete the win. The All Blacks kept possession from a Caleb Clarke break and Cane crossed in the corner, before Taukei’aho barged over from close range after incessant pressure. The All Blacks were better in the scrum, breakdown and under the high ball, all areas they had struggled in seven days ago in Mbombela. “Proud is an understatement,” Cane said. “The work [the assistant coach] Jason Ryan’s done there was strong, and I felt we were creating a few opportunities. The stress has been good for me, I think I lost one kilogram over the last week, so a couple more weeks I’ll be in good shape,” he said. The Springboks will travel to play Australia in a chastened mood.

Rugby Championship: All Blacks bounce back in style as losing run ... (planetrugby.com)

New Zealand picked up their first win in this year's Rugby Championship after they overcame South Africa 35-23 in a morale-boosting victory at Ellis Park.

Following the interval, South Africa looked to build on that score and a Pollard penalty goal made it a two-point ball game after 45 minutes. New Zealand, to their credit, were much better in the forward exchanges and their improvements from last weekend were rewarded on 23 minutes as a run downfield that involved Will Jordan and Rieko Ioane ended with Lood de Jager straying offside. Despite their early dominance, however, the All Blacks could not turn pressure into points and that was with Damian Willemse off the field after he was yellow carded for killing the ball at a ruck.

All Blacks score two late tries against Springboks to blown open ... (Fox Sports)

New Zealand ended a three-match losing streak with a 35-23 Rugby Championship second-round win over South Africa at Ellis Park in Johannesburg on Saturday.

Opting to kick for goal from the halfway line, his kick just made it and as the teams trooped off the field a 15-point New Zealand advantage had been cut to 15-10. Taukei’aho then used his strength to power over from close range and this time Mo’unga split the posts with his kick for a 15-point lead five minutes before half-time. His successful kick triggered a period of away dominance in which captain and flanker Sam Cane and hooker Samson Taukei’aho scored tries, the second of which Mo’unga converted.

Key moments: How Beauden could have cost All Blacks the test (New Zealand Herald)
