Professional golf tournament in PGA of Australia. Developing and growing golf in Australia while maintaining a commitment to the integrity of the game.
There is a change to the qualifying criteria for the PGA Professionals Championship in 2022. Lott is part of the four-man team that will represent the PGA of Australia at the Four Nations Cup in South Africa from September 2-4 at Kyalami Country Club. The perception that a job within golf opens up time to play is far from the reality but Victoria Park Professional Murray Lott worries the balance has tipped too far in the other direction.
Gavin Kirkman said Australian players returning home after taking part in the Saudi-backed series will not face bans.
Those three events were all co-sanctioned with the PGA Tour, which has suspended all LIV players, and, according to Reuters, there will be no such action in Australia. What I don’t want and what I don’t like to hear about and read about at the moment is people arguing what is good for the game and what is not. The 28-year-old Brisbane native has not hidden his desire to play more events at home, and did nothing to distance himself from fresh LIV rumours ahead of the FedEx St Jude Championship.
'Ready to cop some heat': Cam Smith's big admission over $140m PGA bombshell.
“I feel pretty good about the opening round and looking forward to the rest of the week.” “I’m not getting too excited about anything right now, just got to stay patient as much as I can because the more and more I start thinking about outcomes and being able to get into next week, it just does nothing for me, or at least anything positive for me. Only the top 70 finishers will progress to the next event and remain in the hunt for the biggest payday in golf, outside of signing a LIV deal. “I’m here to win the FedEx Cup playoffs, that’s my number one goal. Smith was pressed on the report ahead of the start of the FedEex Cup Playoffs and refused to be drawn on it. “You know, my goal here is to win the FedExCup Playoffs,” Smith said.
When it comes to professional golf—and gambling on professional golf—these are wild times.
And again, these aren't the actual odds you can bet, but a good starting point if you still have a bookie. So, too, is 2021 Masters champ Hideki Matsuyama. There are other rumors floating around that this guy has been offered an insane amount of money by LIV. Not Tiger Woods money, but up there. This seems like it's a lock, but you can still bet it at -1000, meaning to win $100, you'd have to risk $1,000. Pretty steep, but again, this is probably a lock. Although, apparently, those guys might not be getting paid quite as much as originally thought . . . OK, so probably not LIV-like money, because those dudes are getting PAID, but some money.
Cameron Smith, the No.2 player in the world after his victory at last month's Open Championship, is rumoured to be leaving the PGA Tour for LIV Golf.
One of the provisions in the PGA Tour Player Handbook and Tournament Regulations is that each PGA Tour member acknowledges the commissioner, the tour’s policy board and the appeals committee have the authority to permanently ban a member from playing in tour co-sponsored, approved or coordinated tournaments if the member violates its regulations. “I am sure both LIV and the player are not sharing their contracts voluntarily, and the PGA Tour doesn’t want to act so severely based solely on rumour,” Allen says. As multiple attorneys convey, one wrong move could have massive consequences in the tour’s legal battle with LIV Golf. If something isn’t ironclad, the tour will likely have to take the conservative route. According to the antitrust lawsuit filed by 11 LIV golfers against the PGA Tour last week, Phil Mickelson was suspended by the tour in March for recruiting players to LIV. There are many things that can trigger the conduct unbecoming clause, such as poor behaviour, drug use or badmouthing the tour, other players, the commissioner or its sponsors. PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan had long promised that any tour member who competes in a tournament on a rival league without a conflicting-event release would face disciplinary measures from the tour. If it happens, it arguably would be the PGA Tour’s biggest loss to the Saudi-backed circuit in the burgeoning divide in professional golf.

Seriously, what on earth is going on there? Do the most protective/paranoid parents on the planet live there? Also, it’s not that his setup this week is bad.

He had a runner-up at the Genesis Invitational at famed Riviera in January. This spring, he had three-straight top-three finishes, capped by a tie for third at the PGA Championship at Southern Hills. He was tied for 30th heading into the second round. That doesn’t appear to be the case, however, at least for now.
Cameron Young, who as been linked to the Saudi-backed upstart LIV Golf tour, isn't likely to join it.
The Fordham Prep grad missed the cut at the Masters and the U.S. Open. He was tied for third at the PGA Championship before placing behind Smith at the British last month. He did not have status on any professional tour last spring but played his way onto the Korn Ferry Tour and won twice there in 2021. The likely PGA Tour Rookie of the Year was linked to the upstart LIV Golf tour by The Times UK on Wednesday, but a person close to the situation who spoke on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the issue said the 25-year-old isn’t likely to join the Saudi-backed league.
