Locke and Key season 3 has finally arrived on Netflix. Find out how the final season plays out and what happens at the end of the series!
Since Nina and the sisters are inside the house, they’re fine, but Bode is left trapped inside the globe in the freezing cold. However, Gideon still has two powerful keys and a connection to the demon portal in the sea caves. It looks like the key swaps the outside of the snowglobe for the real world and vice versa. Ada and Dorothy waste no time in attacking Nina for the snowglobe and the Snow Globe Key, leaving Bode outside playing in the snow. In the real world, a nasty fight kicks off between the demon sisters and the Locke women. By the time they arrive, Ada, Dorothy and Gideon are already gone. Locke and Key season 3 begins inside of a snow globe. The key fits inside it and turns Keyhouse’s surroundings into a winter wonderland. It looks like this key brings the snowglobe to life. Unfortunately, it also unleashes the two demon sisters we saw trapped inside earlier in the episode. Kinsey can turn into a cat and Bode into a sparrow. Tyler is 18 now, so he can’t remember anything magical and he opted out of using the memory key because Jackie’s loss was still too painful.
Even the villainous Eden (Hallea Jones) was thrown down a well. Other than the threat of the monstrous Gideon (Kevin Durand) lurking in the shadows and the ...
Saum started on the soap Sunset Beach back in the ’90s and is probably best known for starring on The Fosters in the ’10s. It’s nice to see her get a bigger role in this final season. • Sherri Saum (Ellie) and Kevin Durand (Gideon) have been upgraded to the opening credits this year. It’s a great tone setter and a reminder of the excellent art from the source. In her pocket, they find a key that they give to Gideon. And, well, it looks like that may have been their entire plot purpose because the Lockes pretty handily defeat the twisted sisters in the next scene, trapped in a mirror world that looks like an even worse fate than the snow-globe one. • Like last season, it appears that the premiere is going to be the only one that gets the full-credit treatment. Nina and Ellie talk about magic and keys, interestingly noting that they don’t play favorites: “They want to be used — good, bad, they don’t care.” It’s not the key that causes problems, it’s the key-holder. Will he return to Matheson? And will he bring that trauma with him? The sense that the Lockes aren’t whole without Tyler continues into a scene in which Nina and Kinsey plan the seating at the wedding. Almost every time a key or object comes into this universe, it will find its way into the “main” plot, usually to save a member of the Locke family. Other than the threat of the monstrous Gideon (Kevin Durand) lurking in the shadows and the natural sadness that comes when someone like Tyler leaves home, there’s less drama to start the season than last year’s rapid-paced outing. Kinsey (Emilia Jones) finally started a relationship with Scot (Petrice Jones). Duncan (Aaron Ashmore) was back to normal. The Lockes are back for the third and final season of Locke & Key, and it’s an interesting season premiere because the last season’s finale really could have been a series-ender, if not for the actual final scene.
The wedding celebrations start, and whilst Duncan arrives, Tyler is still a no-show. Meanwhile, Captain Frederick Gideon calls out James Bolton and Samuel ...
However, Captain Frederick Gideon is able to free James and Samuel; and the three men get away by using the Anywhere key before Tyler and Kinsey can chain them up. As the wedding nears, Bode starts to hear whispering from a clock, “Now, really?”. As expected, he finds a timeshift key in the clock, opens it, and finds a sand timer. As the wedding celebrations are in full swing, Captain Frederick Gideon, James, and Samuel search for keys, finding the Plant key. Meanwhile, as the wedding starts, Captain Frederick Gideon, James, and Samuel lurk inside the house. Next in Locke and Key, we see Tyler going for a walk, and he notices that the window bars in the well are all bent. He tells the two gentlemen that they died in a war that was eventually lost; and that now, they currently stand on the property of Benjamin Locke, which, as we know, is now occupied by his descendants.
Season 3 of Locke & Key has landed on Netflix and fans are eager to delve into the new chapter but how many episodes are there in total?
In other news, How many episodes are in Locke & Key season 3? We’re keeping the magical keys, though, for our own personal use.” However, this isn’t a case of Netflix cancelling the show.
Episode 1 of Locke and Key Season 3 starts with a snow globe being knocked over. Nina doesn't think much of it and picks it up off the ground.
While this is going on, Nina rings Josh and he agrees to go as her plus-one to the big day. Eventually Nina and Kinsey work together and trap Ada inside too, taking the Snow Globe key and releasing Bode from his prison before it’s too late. Kinsey retunes home and takes the reigns of the situation, determined to find the two demons before it’s too late. They decide not to wait for Kinsey (who’s off filming the latest B-movie in town) and turn the key. Entranced, he listens intently and realizes it seems to be coming from the fridge. Nina doesn’t think much of it and picks it up off the ground.
Thankfully, this also seemed to align with the overall vision that co-showrunners Carlton Cuse and Meredith Averill had for the show anyway, which means that ...
Did the Locke & Key showrunners have a change of heart during that time or were they just struggling to answer this question given possible issues around secrecy? Given how long that first journey from page to screen took, a Locke & Key movie does seem unlikely right now. According to Deadline, the success of Locke & Key's first season inspired Netflix to start planning both a second and third season immediately after. With that in mind, join us as we take a closer look at the cancellation and what the future could hold for Locke & Key on screen beyond that. The show has many stories left to tell, so I think that’s really a question for them." Locke & Key's transition from page to screen has been quite the journey.
But Gideon was not the kind of person whom one could tame, and so he threw Eden into the deep well after snatching away the two magical keys from her. With the ...
Nina also got a new lover in the history teacher, Josh Bennett. Initially, Bode was struggling to accept Josh into his mother’s life, but at the end of “Locke & Key” Season 3, he finally made peace with his father’s death and decided to welcome Josh into the family. During the climax, Kinsey used the creation to make a small pocket on the Harlequin chest, inside which Gideon had kept all the magical keys along with the Alpha Key. She later stabbed Gideon with the Alpha Key, and Tyler and Nina pushed Gideon back to his realm. In “Locke & Key” Season 3, Duncan Locke married the love of his life, Brain, and moved away from the Keyhouse. He already despised the magical keys, as because of them, he had seen too many deaths in his life, including his brother, Rendell’s murder. Captain Frederick Gideon believed that he had taken all the keys from the Locke family, but when he tried to expand the portal, he found out that there was one key that was missing. He brought the entire family back to the Key House, but none of them had any idea about the last missing key, which was when Ellie Whedon, Rendell’s college friend, told Gideon that there was one Creation Key that they hid inside the mind of a college friend named Gordie Shaw in 1995. Once he had fully drawn the demonic world to the human world, he would command his demon army to capture the human world and recreate the world in his own image. With each key that Gideon possessed, he was able to make a larger portal or gateway between the two worlds, and he believed that once he had all the keys in his possession, he would be able to crush down barriers between the two realms. Bode’s ghost instructed a sparrow to travel through the ghost door, and as soon as its spirit left the sparrow’s body, Bode’s ghost possessed the vessel, and later Kinsey used the Animal Key to transform a sparrow into Bode’s actual form. The Time Shift Key and the Creation Key were the two most important keys introduced in “Locke & Key” Season 3. If we consider that the Demonic Portal and the demons that came to the human world were the centers of all conflicts in the lives of the Lockes and their friends, then to put an end to these magical problems for once and for all, they have to get rid of the magic overall, and that includes the magical keys as well, that have been with the Locke family for generations. This diary was found by Gideon’s descendant, Josh Bennett, the history teacher who arrived in Matheson with his daughter, Jamie. Through Bennett’s research work and Gideon’s diary, a demon who had possessed a student named Eden Hawkins found out about Gideon’s first encounter with the portal, and thus she summoned him with the help of the Echo Key. However, as soon as Gideon’s Echo came to life, he killed Eden Hawkins, whose dead body was later found by Kinsey Locke at the bottom of the well inside the wellhouse. “Locke & Key” Season 3 is the finale season in the franchise, and thus, to give appropriate closure to the characters and the storyline, the creators have portrayed Captain Frederick Gideon, the root of all evils, as the main antagonist of Season 3.
What starts as just another Bode misadventure ends up with something that seems likely to define the endgame of the entire show. A recap of season three, ...
Bode has the Timeshift Key and he goes to see his dad, but he miscalculates and ends up in the battle from the end of last season with Gabe, Eden, and the family. The episode spins its wheels a bit before getting to a key moment in the history museum between Josh and Tyler when the eldest Locke child spots a Revolutionary War buckle that looks familiar. Dodge pushes Bode through the door and then jumps through it herself. Given how often Netflix series sag under the weight of a full ten hours, it’s nice to see creators allowed to come in at the right length for their material instead of dragging it out. The Savinis pull Eden from the well, casually tossing off a “She must have been pushed,” as if murder is a daily occurrence in Matheson. And then they have a little send-off on a cliffside that ends with Kinsey starting to see “Hear You Me” by Jimmy Eat World a cappella, and then the rest of the theater kids sing along, getting louder as they go. What a strange, cringe-inducing scene that reeks of writers having no idea how to close the Eden loop and feeling like they needed to do something or risk “Barb”-ing a fan-favorite character. Back to “reality” as the weirdest sequence in the history of the show unfolds. As she says, it took “serious demon strength.” After Bode leaves and Kinsey gets a reminder that Tyler doesn’t remember most of, well, the history of the show, Kins happens to shine a flashlight to the bottom of the well and casts a light on the frozen corpse of Eden. She gasps. It comes out of nowhere, set up as just another Bode misadventure and concluding with something that seems likely to define the endgame of the entire show. It would probably be very difficult for a recovering alcoholic to literally see themselves drinking, but the writers here let down this episode-long arc about regret and even potential relapse by making it feel all a little too “TV movie.” The scenes of Nina’s addiction feel deeply manufactured and arguably too safe. He worries that Nina will forget about their dad, Rendell (Bill Heck). He starts by trying to find the Timeshift Key so he can go back and visit his father. And then the episode redeems itself by killing the final scene, bringing back a performer and energy that the season desperately needs — sorry, Kevin Durand fans.
After two sisters, Dorothy and Ada, trap Bode inside of a Snow Globe, Kinsey and Nina defeat the two sisters. Meanwhile, Tyler still hasn't returned home. And ...
Whilst Bode is against the idea, after the family use one of the keys to reunite with Rendall one last time, he and the other members of the Locke family throw all of the keys in the portal. That’s the full story recap of what happened in Netflix’s Locke and Key season 3. When Locke and Key concludes its run, the magic is seemingly gone. His efforts, however, seal a lifetime of being trapped in Goldie’s head as when Goldie dies, Sam is stuck under a piano and unable to escape. Before long, Captain Frederick Gideon recruits Dodge and hopes that she’ll aid him in stealing all of the keys from the Lockes. Dodge causes a bit of a stir whilst using Bode’s body. After finding Eden’s body in the well, Kinsey and her friends chuck her body into the ocean.
Locke & Key is airing its third season, continuing the adventures of Tyler (played by Connor Jessup), Kinsey (Emilia Jones) and Bode Locke (Jackson Robert ...
Some of the cast, in fact, have already moved on to other projects. This statement comes despite the fact that there is plenty more of the comic book series they could choose to adapt. Per the show's makers, however, it was their decision to end Locke & Key after season three.
Locke and Key, delivers a thrilling supernatural adventure that brings the story of the Locke family to a satisfying conclusion.
Locke and Key had a long journey to the small screen, with failed pilots produced at Fox in 2011 and Hulu in 2017. I was sad to discover this would be the final season of Locke & Key, but curious to see how the third season would unfold. Season 3 charted new territory by introducing Gideon, a demon that even Dodge feared and a villain who really upped the stakes for the series. Stanchfield is fun to watch as the no longer oblivious Locke family matriarch, Nina, She’s a lot more useful now that she’s in on the secret, and the series revisits the previously implied drinking problem she had from Season 1. In its final season, Locke and Key, delivers a thrilling supernatural adventure that brings the story of the Locke family to a satisfying conclusion. He spends most of his time trying to figure out what his family is hiding from him, and although he’s tempted to leave again, he knows deep down that he must remain to protect his family. In their final season, it will take the Locke family and all of their allies to stop a catastrophic merging of the two worlds. Jessup brings a sense of palpable grief to Tyler this season that harkens back to Season 1. Ellie is back from the other side of the Black Door and in her own body. The season ends on a bittersweet note with Tyler, who is nearing the age of eighteen, forgetting about magical adventures that have unfolded over the past two seasons. For generations, The Locke Family have been the keepers of a collection of extraordinary keys capable of performing various supernatural feats. Kinsey ultimately realizes that Gabe is really Dodge and the siblings band together to take the nefarious demon down once and for all.
It's time for a wedding! Duncan Locke is getting married to his love Brian, and everyone seems happy, unaware that a demonic Revolutionary War captain is ...
Just as Bode is about to see a young version of his dad, he jumps back to the present day, and Duncan takes what he calls the Timeshift Key from him. I hope they settle this soon and don’t leave Tyler as a “maybe” presence for the entirety of the season. After Bode gives his speech, which is somehow both cute and ends with him flipping his uncle the bird, Tyler starts to feel the impact of his liquid courage. Jamie and Bode go on another time trip, this time to the ’90s, as evidenced by “Another Night” by Real McCoy playing and footage of Bill Clinton on a small TV in the Keyhouse kitchen. They will move the keys to the impenetrable chest he saw way back in Benjamin Locke’s era. Tyler needs some space and goes into the house to hear the Echoes grunting. To be fair, it’s embedded in the plot in that the keys whisper to Bode when he needs them, but it sometimes makes for writing that seems a little thin in that it means our heroes will always be handed the magic they need to stop any threat. He chose not to use the Memory Key, which means he succumbed to forgetting about the powers of Keyhouse and his family legacy. After Tyler is the first to notice something strange happened near the well — open gate and all — Duncan asks him to stand in his wedding, too. “When are we?” he asks, and Kevin Durand gets to be a little more playful than the evil grunt he’s done so far when he says he’s their “Captain … and something more” with a glint in his eye. He opens the door to the well and calls the name of James Bolton (Ian Lake), bringing his soldier back to life as an echo. Duncan Locke is getting married to his love, Brian, and everyone seems happy, unaware that a demonic Revolutionary War captain from the British Army is lurking around the Keyhouse estate.
As Captain Frederick Gideon, James, and Samuel sit around a campfire, the Captain learns that “another” is here. Meanwhile, Dodge learns a few new things ...
Tyler tells Kinsey that he wants to be there for the family, and that’s why he’s not going just yet. When Ellie and Nina interrupt the pair of them fighting, Dodge warns Rufus that he will kill Ellie and Nina if he reveals anything. When Dodge goes to get the keys, based on Gideon’s intel, Dodge finds nothing. Whilst out for lunch with Nina, Josh, and Jamie, Dodge insults Josh. And then, when something’s wrong with Dodge, he makes an excuse to go outside, where he finds Captain Frederick Gideon. The Captain reveals that with each key he possesses, the portal between the two worlds grows larger. After Bode tries to send a warning to his family, Dodge threatens to kill them all if Bode pulls another stunt like that. But with the way the episode ended, does it mean that Dodge’s control of Bode will soon end?
Episode 2 of Locke and Key Season 3 begins with the Locke's preparing for their big wedding. Duncan shows up with Brian, ready for the big day, ...
Unbeknownst to them though, inside the house Gideon and his cronies begin searching around for the different keys. However, Tyler notices a key wrapped around her neck and as a result, the memories begin flooding back that he lost. Bode is forbid away from using the key, so Duncan gives it to Nina…who eyes it wondrously. Bode immediately mentions how Duncan is his Uncle but it doesn’t seem to have messed up the timeline. Using the key at the Well, Gideon manages to conjure forth his old soldiers to his command. Duncan shows up with Brian, ready for the big day, while Nina uses the Plant Key to speed up the process of setting the flora up.
Locke and Key concludes with its third season on Netflix, but the ending implies that more stories could be told in this fantasy universe in the future.
After helping Tyler pack his bags, Bode remarks to his siblings and mother that he hears "absolutely nothing", in reference to how the magical keys would whisper to him when they were near. He encourages them to send the keys back and close the portal, saying that the love of his family was far more important than any ability they could bestow. Returning home, Kinsey and Bode are "unlocked" with the Memory Key, meaning they will remember their magical youth even after they turn 18, before all of the enchanted tools are thrown into the portal one-by-one. The Lockes scramble to come up with a plan B, with Kinsey having the eureka moment that the Creation Key could be used to gain access to the magical chest holding the Alpha Key (how they didn't realise this sooner is beyond me). The season finale begins with our heroes in a dire position, as Tyler, Kinsey and Ellie are trapped inside the collapsing mind of dying man Gordie Shaw. They are desperately hoping to find the Creation Key before Gideon, who plans to use the collective power of all the artefacts to tear down the barrier between our world and the demons beyond. When Gideon finally arrives at Keyhouse in the dead of night, Tyler greets him at the Well House with a smirk on his face and the villain instantly senses trickery afoot.
The return of two past villains, Dodge and Eden, is much welcomed. And whilst Bode continues to be very annoying, his stupid mistakes may actually create some ...
By being bratty towards Nina and refusing to listen, he may have caused a lot of trouble for his family. Tyler confronts Kinsey over not reporting the “break-in”. And Bode uses the Timeshift key. He transports to when Dodge and Eden tried to kidnap. Captain Frederick Gideon goes to the museum and stumbles across Josh, and tries to find out where the missing items are. Elsewhere, Bode accuses Nina of forgetting about his Dad. So, Nina uses the Head key so Bode can relive one of the memories. Kinsey, Abbey, Zadie, and Doug, take Eden’s body out for a send-off; and Kinsey then sings a song.
Who will be returning for Locke and Key series 3? · Emilia Jones · Jackson Robert Scott · Connor Jessup · Darby Stanchfield · Aaron Ashmore · Kevin Durand · Petrice ...
First introduced as a mysterious woman living in the grounds of the Key House, Dodge became series one and two’s antagonist as her tireless mission to assemble all of the keys was unveiled. The character headed to England as series 2 wrapped up to take part in a film programme after his relationship with Kinsey develops and the group survives the wrath of Dodge. Frederick, a soldier fighting for the British Empire during the American Revolutionary War, was summoned by Eden to vanquish the Locke family and collect the keys and could be the next antagonist the family faces in series three. Duncan, the brother of Nina’s deceased husband and the Locke children’s father Rendell, is a fan favourite character in Locke and Key, and Aaron Ashmore is set to portray the character once more in series three. He also experiences the effects of the memory key during series two and joins his nephews and niece in facing off against Dodge, creating the demon key which leads to the villain’s downfall. The third installment of the fantasy horror series will be the last after Netflix bosses and the series creators confirmed it was coming to an end.
Dodge is back and she's possessed Bode, which leads to some good ol' fashioned body-swap humor with extremely high stakes. Meanwhile, Tyler and Carly work ...
And it feels like the pieces are in place for a final showdown now that Tyler is back and willing to remember the keys and the magic. The important thing is now Rufus knows and Dodge knows that Rufus knows. After a few scenes between Kinsey and Carly and Ellie and Rufus (she wants out of Matheson), Dodge gets to Kinsey in her pursuit of the keys. He tells Kinsey that he wants to be there for them, and that means knowing everything. She worked hard for that and didn’t get it until she was on her way back out the door. Introductions aside, Gideon suggests that Dodge could be useful in obtaining the keys from the Lockes — it turns out that even a possessed Locke can take the keys, which is a nice loophole for Dodge and Gideon. And Gideon’s plan is revealed when he squeezes the keys he has already and a portal starts to open in the ground. Bode pressures “Savini” Doug to give up the location of the keys they used to make their movies, but he has no idea. It feels likely that this is setup for a “Lockes United” final showdown, followed by the realization that families can be strong on their own without losing the power they have together. Gideon, who seems more and more destined to be relegated to a minor baddie instead of the big bad the start of the season promised (which is fine with LDO back), is in the woods with his buddies, making s’mores and planning the end of the world. For the sake of clarity, we’ll stick to using the name Dodge in this recap even when she’s in Bode’s form — the real Bode is a ghost in the cemetery, after all. Dodge marches to the graveyard and threatens to kill his whole family if he keeps it up. As that’s happening, Dodge is getting used to her new skin even as ghost Bode is trying to pass messages to the family via mom’s coffee mug.
There are four new keys introduced in the third season, the Animal Key, the Creation Key, the Snow Globe Key and the Timeshift Key. The Animal Key opens the ...
The Creation Key allows the user to bring any drawing to life. This list doesn’t include keys mentioned only in the comics. With the Lockes regularly finding new keys in Keyhouse, it’s easy to forget which ones they have already discovered and what each key does.
Episode 5 of Locke and Key Season 3 starts with Nina asking Bode how Dodge's body ended up under his bed. Bode throws some blatant lies about the Timeshift ...
Our characters do also finally realize that Bode is actually Dodge but not before Dodge has to spell it out and tell them. It’s clear that Gideon’s plan is going to cause a lot of chaos but could it also be reversed by the hourglass running out and time reversing? But then paradoxically, if Bode was never in this timeline possessed by Gideon then wouldn’t that mean everything up to this point would reverse and go back to that pivotal moment by the grandfather clock when Bode jumped back in time? Back in Locke House, Gideon gets his hands on every single key and prepares to open the portal. Deducing that this is similar to the Ghost Key, he finally understands that Bode is not himself anymore. Nina brings her concerns to Kinsey and Tyler, telling them that Bode is acting weird and there’s something off with him.
Sherri Saum returns as Ellie Whedon in Locke and Key season 3, but how did Ellie actually escape from the Black Door after Tyler and Kinsey threw her in?
Later, Ellie reunites with her son, Rufus. Ellie also got to see the real Lucas again as he returned to himself after Kinsey used the Alpha Key on Dodge to rid his body of the demon once and for all. But as she’s still trapped in Dodge’s form, the Lockes don’t immediately know if they can trust her. At the end of Locke and Key season 2, Ellie escapes from the Black Door after Josh Bennett and Eden Hawkins briefly open it.
The third and final season of the Netflix original series Locke and Key drops on the streaming platform August 10. I was able to get early access to the ...
The material they are asked to work with is rather bare-bones, and you can’t make a stew with just bones. Moving on to the negatives, I have to tell you I had a very hard time getting into this show due to the acting. On the writing side of thing, I think the events make sense when laid out in outline form. The third and final season of the Netflix original series Locke and Key drops on the streaming platform August 10. For those jumping into the series blind, here’s a brief synopsis: Locke and Key follows the Locke family — siblings Kinsey, Tyler, and Bode and their mother Nina — who have access to magic keys they find scattered throughout the family house. We can lay most of blame at the feet of the directors, though.
The Locke & Key season 3 cast is in more danger than ever. Let's meet the key players in the final season of the Netflix fantasy series.
She’s also very close to realizing her lifelong dream of publishing a novel. With the Memory Key she’s able to see what her kids have been dealing with. An avid TV and movie fan, her perennial favorites are The Walking Dead, American Horror Story, true crime documentaries on Netflix and anything from Passionflix. You’ve Got Mail, Ocean's Eleven and Signs are movies that she can watch all day long. Jones was nominated for a BAFTA award for Best Leading Actress for her work in the film. While this could lead to big adventures, it also comes with a lot of risk. Where else have you seenJackson Robert Scott? Jackson Robert Scott is a familiar face for horror movie fans. She’s always had her older brother watching over her, so the dynamic will shift when he leaves and she’s in charge of keeping younger brother Bode out of trouble. He’s the one who discovers the keys and their magic. As the youngest member of the Locke family, losing his dad was very hard for Bode Locke. It’s not surprising, then, that when the family moves to Keyhouse it’s a big adventure for Bode as he struggles to grieve and figure out his new life. Needless to say, anyone who knows about the keys is aware of their power and there are people (and demons) who will do anything to find them. As the only female among the Locke siblings, she’s always had a different way of looking at the experience in the Keyhouse. She used the Head Key to remove her fears; this helped her adjust to her new life at a new school, but it wasn’t without danger. As he approaches his 18th birthday, though, things are about to change.
Locke and Key season 3 is now on Netflix and it concludes the fantasy series. Does Gabe (Griffin Gluck) return? Does Dodge (Laysla De Oliveira)?
While Dodge, played both by Laysla De Oliveira and Griffin Gluck, do appear in Locke and Key season 3, the Lockes have a way bigger threat in Gideon to worry about this time around. It’s not until episode 5, “Siege,” that the family realizes Bode is actually Dodge, and they end up teaming up with Dodge to fight off Gideon. That’s the last we see of her in Locke and Key season 3. Throughout Locke and Key season 3, we’re introduced to new keys as the family tests a few out that turn out to be pretty dangerous.
The series finale ends with a mysterious whisper. Emilia Jones as Kinsey Locke, Connor Jessup as Tyler Locke, Sherri Saum as Ellie. Amanda Matlovich/Netflix.
It seems like this is the end of Locke & Key for now. Even though the rest of the season wraps up loose ends extremely well, Locke & Key’s final shot gives an ambiguous ending to the series. Before they do that, though, the family uses the Time Shift key to spend a final moment with Rendell and receive his blessing to get rid of the keys once and for all. The final shot of the series is a closeup of the house’s door knobs as we hear the whispering sounds of the keys. The show’s final episode — and final season — is full of complicated, logistical details around which characters are under the keys’ influence and remember the extent of Keyhouse’s magic. Even though the season has a mostly neat ending, there is a faint, key-esque whispering of something heard at the tail end of the finale.
The Lockes are moving on to the next chapters of their lives, but some of us are still confused. Therefore, here's the ending of Locke & Key Season 3 ...
With all the keys destroyed — or more specially, lost on the other side of the portal — and the Lockes finding ways to move on, the ending of "Locke & Key" Season 3 feels like a well-rounded and complete ending for the entire series. Before they get rid of the keys, Nina uses the Memory Key on Kinsey and Bode to ensure they'll always remember magic. But after visiting Rendell and giving up the keys, the Lockes are finally able to let go of the past and move forward. Despite his time-travel antics causing them a bit of a bother in Season 3, he wants to use the Timeshift Key to see his dad again, which is what he's been trying to do all along. It's the end of a magical era at Keyhouse as the Locke family choose to give up their magical keys. His teenage years are shown in flashbacks, and they reveal the ups and downs of his friendship with Rendell, and why Ellie stashes a key in his head. As viewers will recall, Rendell Locke's murderer Sam Lesser (Thomas Mitchell Barnet) is left trapped as a ghost after he holds the Lockes hostage and then tries to escape via the Ghost Door in Season 1. Until this point, the Lockes unanimously felt that the benefits of the keys and magic outweighed the negatives. After Tyler gets his memories back at the end of Episode 4, they're able to piece together who Gideon is and why he's after them or, more specifically, all the keys. Each of these keys highlight that even with newer storylines, villains, and adventures, this is the same story about a family grieving the loss of a loved one, which is something that we'll touch on again later. It essentially forces Kinsey to take the lead and become the magical protector of the family, a role she never expected to play. Season 3 plays on the theme of the past influencing the present, and that's literally and figuratively the case with the new keys.
Spoiler alert: This article contains spoilers for Season 3 of Locke & Key. Alas, lovers of the supernatural. The final chapter of Netflix's Locke & Key has ...
Each of the keys is hidden throughout the Locke family home — located in the fictional town of Matheson, Mass. Although the Animal Key was first mentioned back in Season 1, it didn’t make its debut on the series until recently. The final chapter of Netflix’s Locke & Key has arrived and I’m not crying, you are.
Episode 8 of Locke and Key Season 3 marks this finale with a dramatic turnaround. Godie is flatlining in the ambulance and it seems all hope is lost.
This Key could have literally saved everyone but instead they show off the magic to a whole bar full of people! It’s assumed that the timeline goes back to how it was but the rules were pretty hazy up to this point and I genuinely thought at one point that Gideon would get his portal, destroy the world and then we’d jump back in time and stop that happening using the key. Anyway, the swirling portal in the living room is still there and Nina springs out of nowhere and pushes Gideon into it. Bode controls the machine and attempts to push Gideon through the gap but he’s too strong. Gideon loses control of the car and it eventually goes up in flames. Kinsey continues to use this deus ex machina device to get out of trouble, springing forth a bike by drawing it on the ground to leave.
