Nishioka set to battle for his second ATP title versus Kyrgios.

If I have chances, if I get it, maybe I have chance to win. "You know, if he making 80% first service, I can't do anything," Nishoka added. Also, I think we both have the mentality, too much emotional sometimes, but for sure, he had a great week here, singles and doubles.

And while we do think he’d be fine even in the event that happened, betting on Nishioka to take advantage of those moments might be the best thing you can do in this match. The only thing that can really prevent Kyrgios from ultimately winning this title would be himself. All things considered, it’s just really hard to see Kyrgios losing this match.

ATP Washington Final Prediction – Nishioka vs Kyrgios (Last Word on Baseball)

Expect an entertaining final at the ATP Washington Open. But will it be Nick Kyrgios or Yoshihito Nishioka who lifts the title?

Waiting for him was 16th seed Dan Evans, with Nishioka edging out the Briton in a three-set thriller. After losing the first set, he won a second set tiebreak 14-12 and that turned the match decisively in his favour as he completed a 6-7 7-6 6-2. He has maintained that form so far at the ATP Washington Open. The Australian opened his tournament with a 6-3 6-2 win over Marcos Giron, backing that up with an excellent 6-3 6-4 win over 14th seed Tommy Paul. Kyrgios then secured his spot in the quarterfinals by beating Reilly Opelka 7-6 6-2.

The Australian beat upset-minded Yoshihito Nishioka in straight sets to take the D.C. hard-court title again.

As the match unfolded, it was clear that Kyrgios had the more varied game, able to generate pace, play wicked angles and flick deft drop shots. That was his winning formula, he explained, behind his straight-sets upset of Rublev in a semifinal Saturday. He later confessed embarrassment on social media that his vision “was going fuzzy” and he felt as if he were going to pass out. But upsets were a daily occurrence as Washington’s late-summer heat and humidity got the best of some — including American Taylor Fritz, who retired from his third-round match while trailing in the third set. Reaching last month’s Wimbledon final, where he outplayed defending champion Novak Djokovic in the early going, appears to have given Kyrgios new reason to believe — in himself and his game. But he bristled at expectations over the years that followed, competed intermittently and at times undermined his hopes by throwing profane tantrums on the court and turning in halfhearted efforts while sulking.

Nick Kyrgios continued playing well in the D.C. beating Mikael Ymer in two sets (7-6 (4), 6-3) and he'll take on Nishioka for the trophy.

That serve was essentially the crucial difference as Ymer could not control the return as well as he needed to. The Australian was able to apply the pressure in the 2nd set as well with Ymer stumbling towards the end. He gave Kyrgios quite a bit of trouble as he kept him away from any kind of break points.

As usual when Kyrgios is on his game, the serve led the way: He hit 12 aces and won 22 of 25 first-serve points. "I don't care about what people say about my tennis, like, 'Always disrespectful to the sport,' all this, all that," said Kyrgios, the first man to win Washington's singles and doubles events in the same year. "I feel like my motivation is a lot higher than it used to be. Kyrgios managed to break Japan's Nishioka, who is ranked 96th and eliminated top-seeded Andrey Rublev in the semifinals, three times -- in the opening game of each set and again in the match's final game. Kyrgios extended the best stretch of his career and gave another performance that will make him someone to take seriously at the U.S. Open, saving the only break point he faced in the final along the way to a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Yoshihito Nishioka at the Citi Open.
