Anyone who sees the young men in Victoria should not approach them and call police immediately.

โ€œAny escape is taken very seriously and the safety of the community is of paramount concern,โ€ a spokesperson from the Department of Justice and Community Safety said. He is known to frequent the Ballarat area and is not believed be violent. After allegedly being on the run for more than 24 hours, Piscopo was arrested on Monday at a residential address in Ballarat about 10.30am, police said.

Police are still searching for one of the men who broke out from the Malmsbury Youth Justice Centre on Saturday night.

"The admissions unit is a pretty secure unit, except for the ceiling. She was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder and was paid out hundreds of thousands of dollars from the Department of Justice because she was declared unfit to work. "Any escape is taken very seriously, and the safety of the community is of paramount concern," they said. A spokesperson for the Department of Justice and Community Safety said how the men escaped from the facility was being reviewed. "The young men exited the precinct and this was discovered during the morning unlock." Police have captured one of the two young men who escaped from the Malmsbury Youth Justice Centre through the roofs of their cells over the weekend.

Police are on the hunt for two young men who escaped through the roof of their bedrooms in a Melbourne youth justice centre.

The centre houses boys and young men ranging between 15 and 21 years of age. The men are believed to have escaped through the roof space of their bedrooms and exited the building through a plant room door. Staff at the facility told the ABC the men escaped through the roof and workers did not realise they were missing until Sunday morning.

Police have made a partial breakthrough in the case surrounding two fugitives who escaped from a youth prison. Madeleine Achenza and Hamish Spence.

The centre houses boys and young men ranging between 15 and 21 years of age. Shamus Touhy, 22, and Matthew Piscopo, 19, broke out of the Malmsbury Youth Justice Centre about 11.30pm on Saturday. One of the two young fugitives who escaped from a youth justice centre 100km northwest of Melbourne has been caught, while the other remains on the run.
