Rampant Bayern obliterates Frankfurt 6-1 in Bundesliga opener (Sportstar)

Bayern Munich fire five goals past Eintracht Frankfurt in the first half en route to a 6-1 win.

Musiala, however, wrapped up the scoring when he latched onto Leroy Sane’s assist to slot in his second goal of the evening seven minutes from time to complete the rout. He then sent Mueller through to set up Jamal Musiala for its fourth in the 35th with a simple tap-in and the Eintracht defence in tatters. Mane, who netted in last week's German Super Cup win over RB Leipzig, was among five different scorers in a scorching first half with all Bayern's goals coming in a span of 38 minutes.

Thomas Müller talks expectations, Bayern Munich's winning streak ... (Bavarian Football Works)

He doesn't worry too much about Borussia Dortmund's transfer window. “In my understanding of FCB, it should always be about sweeping your own front door rather ...

Now, Müller believes, is the time for Bayern to do big things with the excellent squad. Sporting director Hasan “Brazzo” Salihamidžić has not always had a very good time at Bayern, with some transfers that were not up to the mark. He views this season to have put them even more clearly in the direction of success, and that the players should understand the same.

Much like in Bayern Munich's 5-3 win over RB Leipzig in the DFL-Supercup, Jamal Musiala was the star of the show in the 6-1 win at Eintracht Frankfurt to ...

While each of Bayern’s six goals in Frankfurt were beautiful in their own way, Musiala’s first goal on the night (Bayern’s fourth) was something quite special with the passing sequence that led to the finish. Speaking after the match, Musiala said that they wanted to play with the same energy that they put forth in Leipzig less than a week ago. He scored Bayern’s third and sixth goal and also completed the most successful dribbles of any player on the pitch, per WhoScored. He was brilliant on the turn in tight spaces, quick in decision making, and had some fantastic linkup play up front with Thomas Müller, Serge Gnabry, and Sadio Mane.

BFW Commentary: The start of a new era at Bayern Munich (Bavarian Football Works)

Uli Hoeneß and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge have been replaced by Hasan Salihamidžić, Oliver Kahn, and Herbert Hainer. Lewandowski left at the peak of his powers after ...

Bayern is experiencing drastic change off the pitch, but Nagelsmann will always be blamed for the problems on it. The answer is that you can’t replace a player like that with another. Zig-zagging his way through the Frankfurt defence while showcasing his creative playmaking skills – Sadio looked like he has been at Bayern since birth. Robert Lewandowski, arguably the best player Die Roten has ever had, decided to leave Bayern in a climactic fashion. The perfect start to one of the more dramatic summer transfer periods Bayern Munich has had in recent memory. But I’ll leave that debate for the comment section.

The Frenchman almost left Bayern Munich once and could have his eyes on England or Spain for his next club.

For me this was the best [option]. Even if I want to go somewhere else, if I really like who I am, if they really respect me, they really value me then I am like, I am still young. I want to show the club that they were right to really believe in me, to give me this opportunity.” I really wanted to try something new, a different country, different people, a new league.

Match awards from Bayern Munich's incredible 6-1 win over ... (Bavarian Football Works)

We finally returned to the Bundesliga today, and boy, what a way to do it. Here are the awards for this match.

It only proves his mettle and how worthy he is of a spot in the first team as a regular starter. As the coach rightly said, it’s as though the ball is like a magnet to his feet. It proves that the only way to get the ball off his feet is to foul him. In the first few minutes of the game, it looked like Bayern’s defense was struggling (didn’t matter too much though, the attack was too busy scoring FIVE goals), but Upa was there constantly to contain the few but pertinent threats. After a slow start to the season, it looks like Kimmich has finally found his stride. With one goal and one assist, Gnabry did really well today on the pitch (with the exception of that scuffed pass to Müller, who subsequently missed an open goal). If it hadn’t been for wasted chances and a few bad moments, Mané would have gotten this.

Sadio Mane grabs megaphone and starts chants with Bayern ... (SPORTbible)

Sadio Mane is already feeling right at home at Bayern Munich and scored in the 6-1 hammering of Eintracht Frankfurt.

He then led the chants from the terraces as Bayern fans went wild. While all the players went over to the fans and applauded while stood on the pitch, the Senegal star literally climbed on the fence and ended up with a megaphone. Mane went to the away sector with the megaphone and was chanting together with the Bayern ultras.

Bayern Munich training Paul Wanner as Alphonso Davies ... (Bavarian Football Works)

Never mind Lewy, how to replace Omar Richards is the hottest question mark of the summer. With no purchases on the horizon, it's a 16-year-old lefty getting ...

Bayern leapt at the chance to earn decent return for a well-liked squad backup in Omar Richards this transfer window, but it’s curious they did so without a direct replacement. It wouldn’t be hard to imagine Wanner earning the occasional start in the Davies role — perhaps in a DFB-Pokal game, for example. The training at left-back is therefore seen as also a developmental one — to improve both his fitness levels and his general understanding of the game.
