Daredevil Born Again: Kingpin Actor Reacts to Returning In Disney+ ... (The Direct)

Kingpin actor Vincent D'Onofrio recently took to social media to react to the announcement of Daredevil: Born Again.

It is unclear if Born Again will have multiple seasons or if it will just be a limited series like WandaVision, but the sole fact that it will have 18 episodes already makes it equal to what three seasons would be of other MCU shows on the streaming platform. Perhaps the biggest part of the entire Daredevil: Born Again announcement is that Season 1 is going to be 18 episodes. During Marvel Studios' panel in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday evening, it was officially announced that a series titled Daredevil: Born Again would be coming to Disney+ in Spring 2024.

And that's what we've done with connecting to Daredevil and vice versa." Other than Cox and D'Onofrio's involvement, little has been revealed about Marvel Studios' take on the classic Marvel character. "They don't exist [separately]. They're the same person," D'Onofrio told ScreenRant when asked if Daredevil and Hawkeye exist in two separate worlds. Last December, Marvel filmmakers laid the groundwork to bring Charlie Cox back as Matt Murdock, the Man Without Fear himself. "I think from my point of view, like a lot of the Avengers stuff, a lot of the MCU stuff, they tried to connect as many dots to the original canon as they can, and some dots are just not possible to connect. Fast forward to Sunday afternoon and the actor added the official Daredevil: Born Again logo as revealed Marvel Studios, tweeting "Yes Mr. Murdock...," alongside the release information Marvel Studios shared on its official twitter account.

Kingpin Actor Vincent D'Onofrio Reacts To Daredevil: Born Again ... (Screen Rant)

Following the announcement of Daredevil: Born Again at San Diego Comic-Con, Vincent D' Onofrio reacts in character on social media.

For those unfamiliar with D’Onofrio’s inimitable antagonist (or his iconic dialogue), all three seasons of Daredevil are available to stream on Disney+. The crime boss will presumably appear with an eye patch (in-line with the comics) in the spin-off, with Daredevil rumored to be searching for Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones—which bodes well for those hoping Netflix’s Marvel shows are MCU canon. However, it remains to be seen if Born Again can live up to the gritty, TV-MA action of its predecessor. Check out the posts below: Following the show’s critically acclaimed season 3, Netflix/ABC canceled its slate of Marvel shows, including Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, The Punisher, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D, and Daredevil. Despite fan campaigns to resurrect the Defenders universe, viewers were left to wonder whether they’d ever see Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock take on D’Onofrio's Kingpin again. Last December, Murdock and Fisk made their official MCU debuts in Spider-Man: No Way Home and Disney+’s Hawkeye, respectively.

Daredevil's Vincent D'Onofrio Reacts to Born Again Series ... (CBR)

Marvel's Daredevil star Vincent D'Onofrio reacts to Disney+'s upcoming reboot, Daredevil: Born Again, in which he will reprise his role as Kingpin.

(She-Hulk premieres later this year on Aug. 17 as the penultimate entry in Phase Four.) Charlie Cox is also confirmed to be voicing the character of Daredevil in Marvel Studios' Disney+ animated series Spider-Man: Freshman Year. D'Onofrio finally reprised his role as the Kingpin in Marvel Studios' late-2021 Disney+ original series Hawkeye, thus confirming the character as Marvel Cinematic Universe canon. Miller and Mazzucchelli's Born Again was loosely adapted in the third and final season of Netflix's Daredevil, which also took inspiration from Kevin Smith, Joe Quesada and Jimmy Palmiotti's Daredevil: Guardian Devil. John Rhys-Davies played the Kingpin in the 1989 television film The Trial of the Incredible Hulk (which also featured Rex Smith as Matt Murdock/Daredevil), while Michael Clarke Duncan played the role in 2003's Ben Affleck-led Daredevil film. D'Onofrio first portrayed Wilson Fisk in the Netflix original series Marvel's Daredevil, which starred Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and ran for three seasons from 2015 to 2018. D'Onofrio is the third actor to play the character in live-action.

Why Marvel is False Marketing With Daredevil: Born Again That Will ... (Fandomwire)

Announced at the 2022 San Diego Comic-Con, the revived series will debut on Disney+ in the spring of 2024. Previously belonging to the Netflix x Marvel ...

Disney+ does not have the reputation of leaving the audience with a racing pulse after depicting sheer 45 minutes of assassinations, manipulations, and mass hysteria. It marked the return of Sister Maggie, Murdock’s mother, and also followed through with the imposter Daredevil storyline. The comic issue also brings the corrupt super-soldier Nuke to the forefront as a pawn in Fisk’s game. Like a cruel god ruthlessly delivering brush strokes laden in suffering, punishment, and insanity, Frank Miller laid out the elements of the Daredevil: Born Again series. The Born Again series heavily invokes Christian symbolism and stands out as one of the darker storylines among Daredevil comic narratives. Previously belonging to the Netflix x Marvel collaboratory project, Daredevil did exceptionally well during its 3-season run on the platform, before getting canceled along with the other Marvel series on Netflix.
