New Captain America, a Thunderbolts movie, and a Kang all ready to conquer the universe.
So, there we have it: A total of six (we think six) movies, plus some TV shows, forming a new reinvention for Marvel as a whole. All-in-all, a pretty robust slate—even if it’s a little light so far on anything truly seismic, like an X-Men or Fantastic Four reveal. That’s: Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania (2/2023), Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 (5/2023), The Marvels (7/2023), Blade (11/2023), Captain America: New World Order (5/2024), and Thunderbolts (7/2024). Plus, on the TV side, Secret Invasion (Spring 2023), Echo (Summer 2023), season 2 of Loki (same), Ironheart (Fall 2023), Agatha (end of year), and the just-announced Daredevil: Born Again (Spring 2024). That’s a very busy 2023!
At SDCC 2022, Marvel Studios outlined phase 6 of the MCU, with three films: Fantastic Four, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, and Avengers: Secret Wars.
But Marvel also took things one step farther and detailed phase six of the MCU with a trio of movie announcements. The announcements were made during a busy panel at SDCC. Outside of the big theatrical releases, Marvel also showed off a new trailer for She-Hulk and confirmed Daredevil: Born Again for Disney Plus, which will star Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio from the original Netflix Daredevil series. Marvel is calling this period of the MCU — phases four through six — the “Multiverse saga,” which will come to a close with Secret Wars.
We were in Hall H as Marvel Studios gave a glimpse of what's next for the MCU — in Phases 4, 5 and 6. Here's what we learned.
5:20 p.m. Phase 5 is on the horizon: “Ant Man and the Wasp: Quantummania” will begin the next phase on Feb. 17, 2023. The film stars Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan, Klementieff and the director’s brother, Sean Gunn, with Will Poulter as Adam Warlock and “Borat” breakout Maria Bakalova as Cosmo the Space Dog. But the trailer, marked by tears and somber tones, does offer indications of an acknowledgment of Boseman’s death: There is what appears to be a funeral procession, and at one point the camera lingers on a spray-painted image of Boseman (as T’Challa) on a wall that could be an in memoriam. 5:26 p.m. Tatiana Maslany and Jameela Jamil introduce “She-Hulk: Attorney-at-Law,” Marvel’s next Disney+ series, which premieres August 17. There’s no mention of a new Panther, only an image of the back of a figure in a panther suit. A quick flash at the end of the trailer suggests that Daredevil — alluded to throughout “Hawkeye” — will be re-introduced in “She-Hulk.” 5:14 p.m. Finally underway, the panel kicks off with an aspirational trailer narrated by comic book legend Stan Lee, emphasizing surviving “together.” Miss Minutes (“Loki”) introduces Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. An image of the Phase 4 movies and TV shows is on the screen, as the phase will end with “Black Panther” sequel “Wakanda Forever.” He’s joined by cast members Lupita Nyong’o, Letitia Wright, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke and Michaela Coel, among others. 6:04 p.m. Feige returns to confirm a release date — Nov. 8, 2024 — for the latest “Fantastic Four” and jumps ahead to the end of Phase 6, which he says will conclude with two new “Avengers” projects: “The Kang Dynasty” and “Secret Wars,” due in Nov. 2025. Here are 10 ways to have a blast without a badge. 5:43 p.m. In an emotional appearance by the team from “Guardians of the Galaxy,” director James Gunn talks about the conclusion of the storyline in Vol. 3 — but just because it will end doesn’t mean the characters will die, he assures the crowd. Among the highlights were emotional appearances from the casts of “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” confirmation that Daredevil is returning to a small screen near you, and dates for new “Captain America” and “Avengers” movies.
Why learn about one phase of Marvel Studio's cinematic universe, when you can learn about three?
(According to Kevin Feige, via Deadline, the new Avengers movies won’t be directed by the Russo Brothers.) including the debut of Tenoch Huerta as Namor the Sub-Mariner, King of Atlantis. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever hits theaters November 11, 2022. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 hits theaters May 5, 2023. That means flashbacks, and it means step aside Baby Groot: Baby Rocket is here. - Echo - Summer 2023 (On Disney+) did we mention Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio will return as Daredevil and Kingpin for an 18 episode Disney+ series?

Some of the untitled dates should be filled by projects we already know about, such as Deadpool 3, a sequel for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and a sequel to Spider-Man: No Way Home. There’s also a Mutants movie reportedly in production, which could also occupy one of the untitled dates. Phase 6 starts on November 8, 2024, with the release of Fantastic Four. Then, Disney saved the date of February 14, 2025, for the release of an untitled film. Also set in Phase 5 is Captain America: New World Order, set to be released on May 3, 2024.
Not one, but two Avengers movies are coming in 2025 to end Phase 6 of the MCU, Marvel Studios revealed at Comic-Con on Saturday.
With Loki alum Jonathon Majors surely playing a big role, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars are set to for release a mere six months apart in 2025 — on May 2 and November 7, respectively. No director, nor even which Avengers these two new flicks will have in them was made made public today. With the apparent exit of Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man from the MCU, the Russo Brothers’ helmed, picture hauled in over $2.79 billion globally
Marvel Studios has dropped the official slate for MCU Phase 5, and it features Blade, Captain America 4, Disney+'s Daredevil and more.
Additionally, the newly renamed Agatha: House of Chaos is set to drop in either winter 2023 or spring 2024. The Marvels will arrive in its previously announced July spot and make way for Marvel’s Ironheart TV show in the fall. While Phase Four is still going, the studio head has already gone ahead and dropped the details on what’s to come during Phase Five, and there’s a major slate on the docket, which includes Blade and the newly named and confirmed Captain America 4 and Daredevil TV series.
Join us as we prepare for Kevin Feige to bring many teases, and perhaps many baseball caps, to San Diego Comic-Con.
We might have already had so much Marvel this year thanks to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Moon Knight, Thor: Love and Thunder, and Ms. Marvel, but there’s plenty to come this year alone, both on Disney+ and at the box office, where all eyes will be on a return to Wakanda this November with the Black Panther sequel. This time, this place three years ago, Kevin Feige and like, 50 of his most famous friends helped lift the lid on Marvel’s plans for phase 4 at one of the wildest panels to grace San Diego Comic-Con’s Hall H. Now he’s back. But what else could we see tonight?
Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige unveiled the Phase 5 slate for the Marvel Cinematic Universe at San Diego Comic-Con.
But perhaps the most important detail is what happened after the “Secret Wars”: Marvel Studios effectively rebooted, launching “all-new, all-different” versions of many of its most beloved titles, as some (but not all) characters from the 616 an 1610 universes found themselves living within a somewhat rebooted timeline. “WandaVision” head writer Jac Schaeffer will write and executive produce the show. Given the title, it’s safe to presume that Majors’ Kang the Conqueror is the Thanos (or maybe a Thanos) of the Multiverse Saga. What we learned: After her introduction in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne) will star in her own Disney+ series. What we learned: Original launched as part of the Netflix slate of Marvel TV series (which were nominally part of the MCU), Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock is being (fully) brought into the Marvel Studios fold with a Disney+ series that is getting an unprecedented 18-episode order for its first season. — and a release date that gives the film the prime position for Marvel’s 2024 film slate. What we learned: Phase 5 ends with Marvel’s answer to DC’s Suicide Squad: A team up film about a bunch of MCU anti-heroes. What we learned: Nothing more than the release period for the series that spins off “Hawkeye” antagonist Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox) into her own spin-off. Chukwudi Iwuji (formerly of DC’s “Peacemaker”) plays the High Evolutionary, and introduced himself to Hall H in character (implying that he played a role in Rocket’s transformation). Feige also gave a brief glimpse into what is coming in Phase 6, which is scheduled to conclude in Nov. 2025 with “Avengers: Secret Wars” — which Feige says caps off the Multiverse Saga of the MCU. What we learned: A legal comedy with a touch of “Fleabag,” this Disney+ series starring Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walters (i.e. Bruce Banner’s cousin) boasts a cavalcade of superheroes who need a good lawyer — who is also giant and green. There was nary a mention of this critically adored series, but pictures from set have been fluttering across the internet as of late.
Marvel has revealed several pieces of the MCU's Phase 6, but many titles are being kept under wraps.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness introduced a major plot point moving forward: incursions. Simu Liu will certainly return as Shang-Chi in the MCU after a well-reviewed and well-received origin film at the box office. During the post-credit scene of Multiverse of Madness, Strange leaves with Clea (Charlize Theron) to fix an incursion he caused. Beyond just giving more details on previously announced series and movies, Marvel CCO Kevin Feige announced the next two phases after the current Phase 4. Another grounded, family-driven season seems appropriate before a possible Avengers appearance. A third Doctor Strange film including Clea, Wong, and Benedict Cumberbatch in the titular role could lead up nicely to Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars.
Phase 4 is in full swing, but the Marvel Cinematic Universe is not slowing down anytime soon.
The studio is charting a parallel course with its television strategy, finding a balance between new shows like “Moon Knight” and “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law” and utilizing familiar faces in “Loki” and “WandaVision.” He brought out returning cast members Lupita Nyong’O, Letitia Wright, Danai Gurira, Florence Kasumba, and Winston Duke before introducing many of the new faces appearing in the sequel. After debuting some early footage featuring Zoe Saldana as Gamora and Will Poulter as Adam Warlock, Gunn shared that Maria Bakalova voices Cosmo the Spacedog in the new film. The expected news comes at what is essentially the halfway point of Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After the massive “Avengers: Endgame” wrapped up many of the franchise’s original storylines, the studio has rebuilt with a combination of new properties and legacy sequels. James Gunn was on hand to discuss “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,” which is set to conclude his trilogy. He took the stage shortly after 5:00pm PT Saturday, and the high level of expectation from fans was palpable.

It includes Infinity War, Black Panther, and claims, "Today is our time." The panel begins with a sizzle reel narrated by Stan Lee. "Marvel has always been and always will be a reflection of the world right side our window."
The Marvel Cinematic Universe already has Phase 6 planned out, and there are a few Avengers movies in the mix.
The villain has done some awful things in the pages of Marvel comics, and I’m sure he has some truly evil plans in mind for the MCU. Another storyline of the same name was produced in 2015 and involved the destruction of the Marvel universe, along with several other alternate realities. - Untitled Marvel Project - Spring 2025 - Untitled Marvel Project - Spring 2025 The new wave of projects will also include Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars, which arrive on May 2, 2025 and November 7, 2025, respectively. The new releases take fans through to Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and include the return of the Avengers and Fantastic Four.
The film's director Ryan Coogler recalled sitting with Boseman at a previous Comic-Con. "Chadwick had these huge hands and he was just squeezing down on my shoulders. Based on the slate shown at SDCC, Marvel seemingly has plans for 11 projects in Phase 6, but it's only put names to three of them so far: 12 upcoming projects have been confirmed for Phase 5 of the MCU, including plenty of familiar faces. Those phase-concluding films will be in Phase 6, and we now know when to expect them.
