Chris Pine pulls strings as the mysterious mastermind behind the town of Victory in Olivia Wilde's new film.

But don’t worry, darling, most of Dr. Collins’ (Timothy Simons) patients have nightmares, and he has some pills he can prescribe for that. The Stepford Wives have some competition in the town of Victory, a ’50s-era idyll that is obviously hiding a dark secret. On the surface, of course, everything seems just peachy—Jack ( Harry Styles) is enjoying Alice’s ( Florence Pugh) “ Watermelon Sugar” with such vigor that the neighbors can hear.

Florence Pugh and Harry Styles play a couple seeming living an idyllic 1950s life in the new thriller from 'Booksmart' director Olivia Wilde.

They're given two rules to abide to, though: exercising the utmost discretion and committing 100-percent to Victory's vision, even if the town's wives don't actually know what their husbands get up to all day. Victory, the community where she's just moved to with her husband Jack (Harry Styles, Eternals) appears picture-perfect, but we all know how that can be deceiving. In Midsommar, too, she put in an all-timer while coping with the creepiest of creepiest scenarios.

Don't Worry Darling: Everything We Know About The Upcoming ... (Game Rant)

Olivia Wilde's next movie stars Florence Pugh and Harry Styles as a married couple whose perfect life isn't what it seems.

With the success of Booksmart, Wilde had 18 bidders after Darling — including Netflix, MGM, and Blumhouse, but eventually, production company New Line walked away with the project. Pugh and Styles are joined by many familiar faces in Darling, including the director herself, who has a supporting role as Mary. Other supporting actors include Chris Pine (Star Trek, Wonder Woman), Gemma Chan (Crazy Rich Asians, Eternals), Douglas Smith (Big Little Lies, The Alienist), Kiki Layne (If Beale Street Could Talk, Native Son), Nick Kroll (The League, Big Mouth) Asif Ali (The Mandalorian, WandaVision) and Sydney Chandler, for who Darling will be her first major studio role. As seen in the trailer, Alice (Pugh) and Jack Chambers (Styles) are a happy couple living in the experimental company town of Victory during the 50s. Alice is a housewife, and Jack works for the top-secret Victory Project. Everyone in their community is happy: the men spend their days in Victory HQ developing "progressive materials," and the women live in the lap of luxury. What are they doing in Victory, and what is the secret project her too good to be true husband is working on? Starring Florence Pugh and Harry Styles as well as other big-name actors, the trailer for Darling generated a lot of buzz upon its release in May; in the first look, viewers see Pugh and Styles play a young couple with a sickeningly perfect life: Their house is grand, their neighborhood is a suburban paradise, and they are madly in love.

But the way Don’t Worry Darling’s new trailer focuses on Alice’s apparent psychological breakdown as she starts asking questions about Victory makes it more than seem like the danger’s much, much closer to home. But there’s something sinister about Victory that at least one of its Stepford-esque housewives is becoming aware of in Don’t Worry Darling’s new trailer. Though Alice and the other women don’t exactly know what the men of the town do while they’re off working on the Victory Project, what they do know (because their husbands tell them) is that there’s nothing to worry about.

'Don't Worry Darling' Cast and Character Guide: Who's Who in Olivia ... (Collider.com)

Florence Pugh, Harry Styles, and Chris Pine lead the cast of Olivia Wilde's Don't Worry Darling, here's who else will be joining them.

KiKi Layne stars as Margaret, one of the residents of Victory. Margaret appears in the trailer standing mysteriously on top of a roof, hinting there's more to the town of Victory than Frank suggests. There isn't much to be known about Shelley other than that, but the trailer does hint there is much more to Shelly's relationship with Frank than meets the eye. The trailer also hints Margaret's role in the film is the catalyst that starts Alice on her journey to question the town of Victory and its inhabitants, including Frank and her husband Jack. In that sense, Margaret is the domino that causes a devastating rippling effect that affects the entire small community of Victory. Layne was one of the last additions to join the cast of the film. Even as Alice confronts her neighbors about the authenticity of Frank's intentions, many seem scared to even question him. There is a notable shot in the trailer of Alice desperately pulling apart saran wrap that covers her face, symbolizing Alice breaking through the facade of this mysterious town. He has appeared in such movies as Hell or High Water, Smokin' Aces, This Means War, Horrible Bosses 2, and most notably as Steve Trevor in Wonder Woman opposite Gal Gadot. He then reprised the role of Steve Trevor in the sequel Wonder Woman 1984 for director Patty Jenkins. Pine has also lent his voice talents to another popular superhero, the older Peter Parker/Spider-Man, in Sony's animated smash hit Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Next year Pine is set to reprise his role as Kirk in an untitled Star Trek sequel from WandaVision director Matt Shakman, and will be leading the ensemble of the potential franchise-starter Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. Pine is currently working on his directorial debut, the mystery comedy Poolman, in which he will also star in. While many of Frank's neighbors are wholly dedicated to preserving that secrecy, Alice is not one of them. With her portrayals in Little Women and Midsommar, Pugh has made a name for herself as a breakout leading actress. As the trailer progresses, the hidden layers of this seemingly idyllic community begin to slowly unravel. The film's initial teaser trailer shrouds the story in mystery, showing only glimpses of "Victory", the enigmatic company town that is the centerpiece of the film. Jack and Alice have perfect lives until Alice starts to question the eerie nature of Jack's work, which upends their utopian life and relationship. With all of that immeasurable praise, the anticipation for Wilde's next directorial outing, Don't Worry Darling, is understandably through the roof.

New Don't Worry Darling Trailer Portrays a 1950s Utopia With A Lot ... (Game Rant)

Florence Pugh finds herself trapped in a too-perfect 1950s society in Olivia Wilde's next directorial effort.

A psychiatrist all but tells her it’s in her head and that he can prescribe pills, and the trailer ends bouncing back and forth between Alice’s discoveries, accusations, and the men in ever-heightened Stepford Wives-fashion yelling about whose world it really is. The trailer opens with the couple in wedded bliss as a jaunty beat overlays everything. This puts the piece in line with such games as Stubbs the Zombie, and movies like Fido, Suburbicon, and the recent Amazon series, Them, all set in 1950s planned communities gone wrong.
