Manchester United have now confirmed the signing of Danish playmaker Christian Eriksen on a free transfer.

“I have seen Erik’s work at Ajax and know the level of detail and preparation that he and his staff put into every day. Midfield role will suit Christian Eriksen at Man United (The Peoples Person)

Christian Eriksen has signed for Manchester United and there is now the small matter of how Erik ten Hag gets him in the team.

If Ten Hag’s plan is to switch McTominay out for Eriksen, then the prospect of Bruno Fernandes, Jadon Sancho and Christian Eriksen combining out on that flank is a tantalising one. In that system, Dele Ali pushed up from the number ten position to support Harry Kane, leaving space in front of the opposition defence for Eriksen to roam into. While De Jong, Eriksen and Fernandes together in midfield may look like too attacking a trio, as Ajax demonstrated under Ten Hag, a co-ordinated press with willing workers makes pure destroyer-type midfield players redundant. Eriksen is more than likely to get the majority of his starts playing in the same role that Lasse Schone once occupied for Erik ten Hag, only with higher quality. Throughout his career, the Dane has often played as an attacking midfielder, be it as a number ten or off either wing. Feel Sorry For Them: Former Tottenham Star Slams Christian ... (SportzWiki)

Former England and Tottenham Hotspur striker Darren Bent has expressed his disappointment over Christian Eriksen's move to Manchester United from Brentford.

Brentford then gave Eriksen the opportunity to return to top flight football just seven months after he suffered the cardiac arrest. “I can’t help but feel sorry for @BrentfordFC. They were the catalyst in getting Christian Eriksen back to Top form but @ManUtd prize him away . Anyone else feel sorry for them ?” The Manchester United has signed Eriksen as a free agent.

Man Utd shirt numbers available to Christian Eriksen now transfer is ... (Mirror.co.uk)

Christian Eriksen is the latest arrival at Manchester United as Erik ten Hag looks to shake up his newly acquired squad, and many are wondering what number ...

Eriksen could certainly be tempted to return to his no.24 shirt and continue in the rich vein of form that he left Inter in. And for that very reason, it will be interesting to see what number he takes at the club – though he isn't short of options; Mirror Sport takes a look at five options. Jesse Lingard has left United as a free agent, meaning that his no.14 shirt is up for grabs. 6 would suggest that his defensive work will be put to the test in the coming campaign. Perhaps a more obscure choice for an attacking midfielder, but the no.6 shirt is now available if Eriksen is keen. The Denmark international was announced as the latest arrival at Old Trafford earlier this week after finally deciding where he wanted his future to lie.

New Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen arrives at Old Trafford with a wealth of experience and a number of titles - here is a look at his career ...

On Friday, it was announced that Eriksen had signed for United on a three-year contract. Eriksen is currently fourth on the all-time list of Denmark’s senior appearance makers and joint-fifth on men’s goal chart. Brentford signed him on January transfer deadline-day 2022 and he completed his extraordinary comeback to professional football against Newcastle in February. He will no doubt be hoping to add to that at the World Cup in Qatar at the end of the year. He was named as Tottenham's Player of the Season in his debut year for the club, in a campaign which also saw him bag a winner at Old Trafford against United in a 2-1 win for Spurs on New Year's Day 2014. In March 2010, he made his senior international debut against Austria, having already played for Denmark at several age groups, and in being selected for the World Cup in South Africa, he was the youngest player at the tournament.

Christian Eriksen's next miracle: Trying to revive Man U (Deadspin)

A little over a year after the Danish star went into cardiac arrest and collapsed on the pitch, he inked a three-pact to play at Old Trattford.

It’s jarring to think Eriksen will be an integral part of Manchester United’s efforts to get back to the top of England, and possibly Europe. Yet, the Danish let that adversity inspire them in a run to the tournament’s semifinals without their best player. Watching that game live will forever be etched in my brain, and I still think it was a horrible decision to continue that game against Finland the same day. Eriksen was nursed back to full health and the match continued only after confirmation was given that he was awake. How unlikely did Denmark’s No. 10 joining one of the biggest clubs in the world seem last June? I’d say it was impossible, especially when Eriksen’s former club, Inter Milan, wasn’t allowed to play him. To give Eriksen as much privacy as possible, his Danish teammates surrounded the EMTs attempting to stabilize him.

Bruno Fernandes may lose his place in Manchester United and Portugal's midfield due to the signing of Christian Eriksen. The Dane was confirmed as Er.

“I feel Eriksen’s more likely to play than Fernandes at the moment, I’m just not sure about his season last year, he’s got a lot of ability as a footballer but he’s got to fit into the way that Ten Hag wants to play.” “Last year he spent a lot of the time in no man’s land, in the position between the forward line and midfield and he got frustrated by it, you could see in the way he acted. “He won’t get that luxury of being a number ten in that you can float, number 10s are a luxury now because if he’s not pulling the strings and not being the most important player on the pitch for United, he becomes a bit redundant.
