Brisbane Broncos beat St George Illawarra Dragons 32-18 in NRL ... (ABC News)

The Brisbane Broncos turned on the style to score six tries against the St George Illawarra Dragons at Lang Park in a 32-18 victory.

The Dragons will be sweating on the fitness of winger Mikaele Ravalawa, who left the field in the second half with a hamstring injury. Delouise Hoeter scored a try at the start of each half for Brisbane — his first two NRL tries — in only his second career start for the Broncos. The victory, Brisbane's sixth in a row at home, moves the Broncos back up to fifth spot on the NRL ladder.

Baby Broncos upset Dragons in afternoon show (NRL.COM)

The Brisbane Broncos overcame the loss of their spine to hold out the St George Illawarra Dragons 32-18 in a see-sawing clash at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday ...

Brisbane will welcome back their Origin reps as they look to snatch another two points in their run to the finals. We knew that some guys there had been waiting a long time for an opportunity, particularly Zac Hosking whose been waiting a long time to play his first game in the NRL, we had Tesi Niu who hadn't played for a long time, Ryan James and Xavier Wilson. So I'm really happy for those guys that they put the jersey on and did themselves and the club really proud." The Red V will be hoping to have their spine back together once skipper Ben Hunt returns from Origin duties but will face a tough battle with the Roosters desperate to climb into the top-eight. We had periods where we'd start to get the game to where we wanted in the first half but in the second half we gave away our field position too easily. "In their history as a club, on the baby Bronco weekend they always play out of their skin and to their credit they did that. The new-look Broncos side looked like they had been playing together all season when Broncos lock Kobe Hetherington broke through the Dragons line and passed onto fullback Tesi Niu who was in support.

Sims bin: Dragon earns ref's ire as Broncos march on at home (The Sydney Morning Herald)

Celebrating 30 years since their first premiership, the Broncos turned back the clock in their retro jersey in front of almost 30000 fans at Suncorp ...

“We didn’t have a tactic to hit him late or get someone in the sin bin,” he said. The former Blues enforcer was lucky to avoid a straight send-off when his shoulder collected Rhys Kennedy’s chin and earned him another 10-minute rest. Returning to the No.1 jersey, Tesi Niu reminded potential suitors of his talents in a timely performance in the week fullback Reece Walsh’s return to the club was announced. Back to his best, Kotoni Staggs had a double too, his first a wicked step past Suli and the second coming from a brilliant Jordan Pereira kick after another sharp play down the right edge. Sims’ late hit on the No.7 earned him 10 minutes in the bin and Andrew McCullough was lucky not to join him when he too hit the Brisbane skipper late after a kick. The second was rated grade two for a careless high tackle, and will result in a one-match ban with an early plea.

'We found him at the airport': Kevvie's hilarious Reynolds sledge (Fox Sports)

Broncos coach Kevin Walters has delivered a hilarious sledge to star halfback Adam Reynolds after a strong performance against the Dragons.

more of a stinger but it was important to stay out there and use my voice, the second one wasn’t much in it,” Reynolds said. “He is back, he went missing last week in Townsville, we found him at the airport on the way home and we get him back tonight, it is good to have him back.” The 32-year-old labelled his Round 16 performance against the Cowboys “embarrassing” after a number of wayward kicks forced seven-tackle turnovers.

Broncos resillient win marred by Tariq's moments of madness ... (League Unlimited)

The Brisbane Broncos paid homage to their 1992 premiership side with a resounding 32-18 victory over St George Illawarra at Suncorp Stadium despite missing ...

St George nabbed a consolation try in the final ten when Ramsey grabbed his second off a lovely offload from Jack Bird but it was in vein as Brisbane sealed an important win without their stars. Much like the first stint, Brisbane capitalised almost immediately when Niu spun his way around some pedestrian Dragons defence to score and with Reynolds converting, Brisbane led by four. The Dragons would hang on for the rest of the sin bin period and when Sims returned to the field (momentarily), the Saints took the lead following a wonderfully worked set play which saw Cody Ramsey fly onto a Talatau Amone pass and outpace Tesi Niu to go all the way to the try-line and with Lomax's conversion, the Dragons had a narrow advantage.

Dragons coach Anthony Griffin has denied his side targeted a wounded Adam Reynolds, following a number of controversial incidents in Sunday's loss to ...

I let the group down a bit there tonight. He might have iced a couple of things there, but overall we weren’t there from the start. "That’s not on him, that’s on a whole collective group and that’s on me to start that in the middle. McCullough however wasn't looking to make any excuses for his side's performance, with a number of crucial clashes on the horizon in regards to finals. Sims was marched for a late hit on Reynolds in the 2nd minute of play, before a high tackle on Rhys Kennedy in the 25th minute saw him binned again. "We had our opportunity early in the second-half to build some pressure with the ball and field position we had, but we threw it away."
