It’s the story of three friends, two soldiers and a nurse (Christian Bale, John David Washington and Margot Robbie), who find themselves in the titular Dutch capital and form a pact to look out for one another — no matter what. As the Ten Years After classic “I’d Love to Change the World” plays, the trio finds themselves “in a situation where we’re accused of killing someone, which is not true,” as Bale’s character tells us. “You don’t get here without things starting a long time ago,” we’re told near the start of the trailer for David O. While some aspects of this plot are dramatized, the tagline promises that "a lot of this actually happened."
