Simona Halep vs Amanda Anisimova: Wimbledon Quarterfinal ... (Last Word on Baseball)

This Wednesday, Simona Halep and Amanda Anisimova are due to play their fourth match together (2-1 Halep) in the quarterfinals of Wimbledon.

In all honesty though, a 10-point tiebreak in the third to decide matters seems the most likely conclusion. Amanda Anisimova falls into the category of “time-take-away-er” by virtue of her absurdly outstanding return of serve. Her match with Paula Badosa in particular showed it will take something special to beat her. With very little conviction, we’d back Halep if forced to… Halep has broken her opponent’s serve 57% of the time so far, sensational numbers even by her lofty standards. A bit of help from the surface has seemed to help her this tournament, her usually wall-like style a little more aggressive than she’s sometimes shown in the past.

Simona Halep vs. Amanda Anisimova Wimbledon Odds, Preview ... (The Action Network)

Read on for Jon Reid's betting analysis of the Wimbledon quarterfinal match between Simona Halep and Amanda Anisimova.

The form is scintillating, having dropped a total of three sets in her 11 matches on the grass in 2022 (with none of those coming at Wimbledon). Further, she’s dropped just 5.5 games per match to this point at the All England Club. While Anisimova has the game that could trouble Halep with the pure power that can hit through the Romanian when redlining for a prolonged period, I see absolutely no reason to oppose Halep right now. With the natural power on her serve and forehand, the grass was always a surface that the young American was going to find success on at some point. Anisimova Odds Anisimova Odds Halep Odds

Exclusive: 'Fire in her eyes' - Agnieszka Radwanska on Simona ... (Eurosport.com)

Agnieszka Radwanska has told Eurosport about the "more aggressive tennis" being employed to good effect by Simona Halep in making a charge at Wimbledon.

"Every day we focus on myself and what I have to do. I’m working to get the ball a little bit faster, to get closer to the ball and be more aggressive. "Ash, unfortunately, she has gone, so it is only Iga, and I think except Iga, everyone has the same chance. So I think we will wait for the new generation coming in [and there will be a] time when we’re all going to see the same names, like before, in the top 10." "I think there are a lot of players playing at the same level. "I’m really enjoying the time on court.

Simona Halep serves recall notice at Wimbledon (The Indian Express)

Handed a difficult draw and given a cold shoulder by Wimbledon, the Romanian's thumping 6-1, 6-2 win against fourth seed Paula Badosa reminded everyone of ...

She was showing all the characteristics of a once-dominant player on the decline, something that had become a common occurrence on the women’s tour recently. It was Halep’s best result of the year and one that catapulted her as one of the favourites for the Wimbledon title this year. But her dominant displays have come as a surprise, given the state of her career over the past few years. The 2019 champion was not able to defend her title in 2020 after the tournament was cancelled due to COVID-19, and she did not play in 2021 due to a calf injury. After a few years of uncertainty and buildup marred by physical issues, it was presumed that the Romanian will not be up to the task at SW19 this year. So, her hotly anticipated first-round encounter against Karolina Muchova was relegated to the No. 1 Court, where she won with a statement-making score line of 6-3, 6-2.
