A person is unable to claim the payment on behalf of a person who has died, or their estate. A home or major asset at your home must suffer major damage to be eligible for a disaster recovery payment. If you were injured as a result of the floods, you are eligible for the payment. If you are the immediate family member of a person who has died or gone missing in the floods, you can also claim. A lump-sum payment of $1,000 per adult and $400 per eligible child is available to residents living in one of the listed LGA’s who are severely affected by the floods.
