Reynovation kick-starts Kevolution: How halfback rebuilt Broncos ... (The Roar)

Adam Reynolds' acquisition from South Sydney has been a godsend for the Broncos.

Those guys got a taste of it in Round 3, really felt it, and we’re looking forward to tomorrow. Ribs are one of those things that don’t fix themselves in a couple of weeks, 100%, but he’s a tough old bugger and I’m sure he’ll be able to manage it well,” he said. He’s a great asset for us and we need all of that from him tomorrow night.” “He’s looking forward to getting up there and playing. He’s got to compete. He’s just got to get his job done. “That’s part of the plan anyway so let’s see how it all transforms. “Adam Reynolds will really bring the best out of Kotoni tomorrow night. We don’t need him to do all the flashy things. “Absolutely, we do,” he said, when asked if his club still held a hatred for Brisbane. “They’re our arch enemy and I learned it pretty quick and it’s ingrained in me. - He averages 491 metres each outing in kick metres, Tyrone Roberts is next best with 168 from his two outings. “We just want to make sure, first and foremost, Adam’s health and wellbeing is at the front of everything but Adam’s a 250-gamer so he knows more about his body than any of us and he’s informed us that he’s right to go.

Cowboys surge to claim derby rights over Broncos (NRL.COM)

The Cowboys have made it two wins over the Broncos in a season for the first time since 2016 following a 40-26 victory in the Queensland derby in Townsville ...

Plenty to work on for us, but the good thing is there is nine more weeks for us to get it right and make sure that the next time we play them, and we will play them again, that we get it right. But some of the tries that they scored shouldn't have been scored, which is the part that really nags at me." "From a possession and field position point of view, for the first 60 minutes yeah [we dominated them], they didn't have a play inside our 20-metre zone up until 50 odd minutes. We didn't get it right tonight." - Three penalty goals in the first half enabled the Cowboys to take a narrow 10-8 lead. Broncos winger Corey Oates bagged a double in the second half to add to his try-scoring tally in 2022 but it wasn't enough for the visitors with the Cowboys in control for most the match with a 56% possession rate in their favour.

Broncos late charge not enough against Cowboys (Broncos)

North Queensland Cowboys 40 (Murray Taulagi 2, Griffin Neame, Kyle Feldt, Reece Robson, Jeremiah Nanai Murray tries; Valentine Holmes 6 goals) Def Brisbane Broncos 26 (Corey Oates 2, Billy Walters, Selwyn Cobbo tries; Adam Reynolds 4 goals). Related /.

A Scott Drinkwater spiral bomb was moving all over the place and Martin spilled it to give the Cowboys another chance. Just one minute later, Pat Carrigan found Cobbo with a nice inside ball to streak 50 metres up field. A short ball to Griffin Neame saw the Cowboys extend their lead to 16-8 after 45 minutes. But Brisbane have shown they won’t die in 2022 and they pegged one back through Corey Oates, who became the outright fourth highest try scorer for the club with 111 career Broncos tries. When the Cowboys kicked the ball out on the full it looked like a remarkable come back was on the cards, but back to back errors from the Broncos killed any chance. It didn’t take long for the Cowboys to convert with Feldt scoring in the corner from a slick backline play and the score blew out to 22-8.

Kings of the North: Cowboys carve up Broncos to underline ... (The Roar)

The Cowboys have underlined their top four credentials by comfortably winning the Queensland Derby 40-26 in a high scoring affair in Townsville.

The dam broke via a classic try built by pressure, with Neame able to turn in traffic and get over the line from close range. Mam saw space and kicked, but Hiku intervened ahead of Corey Oates to stop the danger. He sent the kick off out on the full, and when the Cowboys forced a repeat set from the resulting good ball, the veteran halfback sent the drop out straight out too. The Broncos would hit back in similar fashion. They tried to shift coming out of their own end and Reynolds’ long pass was so easily telegraphed that Murray Taulagi picked it off and trotted under the posts. Sadly for his side, the weight of tackling in the legs told.
