World No. 76 Thompson was aiming to advance to the third round for the second time, having reached that stage 12 months ago. Under the roof on Court 1, Tsitsipas quickly gained control, demonstrating great footwork to dictate on his forehand. Tsitsipas’ best performance at Wimbledon came in 2018, when he reached the fourth round. The fourth seed, who is making his fifth appearance at Wimbledon, struck 29 winners and broke the Australian six times to improve to 2-0 in their ATP Head2Head series. It is going to be a challenging one on grass. Kyrgios holds a 3-1 lead over Tsitsipas, having won their most recent match on grass in Halle earlier this month.

“I’m probably going to get emotional,” she said. “I just feel like people just don’t give me the respect sometimes because of other things that I do.” The 22-time Grand Slam champion, who has not played at Wimbledon since reaching the 2019 semi-finals, admitted he needed to step up his game. “I’m definitely thrilled to be facing him. “I would say the grass is pretty tricky for me, I’m not going to lie,” said Swiatek. “I guess you can see that I’m not playing maybe as efficiently as on other surfaces. But this tournament is tricky and I’m still feeling out how to play the best game here.” “I didn’t want to remind people that I’m good; I know that I’m good,” Kyrgios said. Swiatek was in early trouble before winning four games in a row to take the first set but went down a break in the second and could not recover. He claims to like grass and I think his game is good for the grass,” Tsitsipas said. Tsitsipas’ comments came as Kyrgios launched an attack on the media for “disrespecting” him after his win over Krajinovic, and declared he is “one of the most important people in the sport”. “I respect him for his game and the way he fights ... when he wants to.” I respect him a lot on the court, what he is trying to do, although he has been a little bit controversial.

'I know what I bring': Kyrgios v Tsitsipas is the talk of London (The Sydney Morning Herald)

Attention and excitment at the All-England club is growing ahead of a blockbuster Saturday clash for Nick Kyrgios against the popular Stefanos Tsitsipas.

From the back of the court I felt like I really returned well. Although he has been a little controversial in the past, I think he’s playing good tennis. We also like being around him as a family, the Tsitsipas family. For when it comes to Kyrgios against players in the upper echelon, the stats usually back up that he’s capable of holding his own. Hopefully, I can stay there and do something great, have a great competitive match against him.” I think there’s good connection with him, which matters a lot. “There was just nothing the media possibly could tell me I did wrong today. [I’m] one of the most important people in the sport. “And I love it because then you can’t write anything. [Krajinovic] made finals at Queen’s, [he’s] top 30 in the world, seeded,” said Kyrgios. Kyrgios had backed up his talk with a near-perfect performance, pounding down 50 winners and committing just 10 unforced errors against Serbia’s Filip Krajinovic in one hour and 25 minutes. All the challenges I’ve overcome in my life.

Wimbledon Day 6 Men's Predictions Including Tsitsipas vs Kyrgios (Last Word on Baseball)

Shane: Holding an 8-2 record on the surface this season, Stefanos Tsitsipas has seemingly found comfort with the grass courts of Wimbledon. Nick Kyrgios, ...

The Chilean was due to face Matteo Berrettini in his opener before the Italian had to pull out due to Covid. Garin has gotten to face two lucky losers instead, taking out Elias Ymer and Hugo Grenier in straight sets. Like in his fourth-round run last year, Garin has taken advantage of the draw. Shane: Jenson Brooksby won his first two career Wimbledon matches in straight sets. Damian: This is a brilliant chance for both. It will take a vintage Gasquet performance to upset van de Zandschulp though. Damian: Van de Zandschulp has it all – the big serve and arsenal of weapons, but also great movement and defense. Botic van de Zandschulp has been extremely impressive this year as well as the more consistent player. He’s now ready to secure his spot in the second week at another Slam, something that he was unable to achieve before the 2022 Australian Open. I have enjoyed watching the Americans’ comfort on the grass grow with seemingly every set. With that said, I do not think the Australian has the competitive stamina to last in a longer match. All signs are pointing to it, but this is definitely a key match. Damian: Is this finally a Grand Slam tournament Kyrgios can threaten to win?

You can be more present in your everyday life and the important tasks that you have to fulfil, the things that you want to pursue. Social media is all about bringing people together, connecting people, and it kind of feels sometimes like it does the opposite to that to everyone around us.” “I have never really been on that side of social media addiction, but you are always one step away from it. “[They would probably see] a fun side of me that sometimes requires less thinking than when I’m with other people and I have to instantly answer or say something that doesn’t leave me with much gap of thought,” Tsitsipas said. “It is kind of my own media place, where I can just express anything I want. I like the fact that I can look back to them in one or two years and I have a feed where I can preview all my past quotes and opinions I might have had. Once you start picking up your phone and going straight to a social media platform to feel less bored, that’s not a good indication or sign. Also, as a kid I was a big fan of Phineas and Ferb, the TV show for kids, and Perry the Platypus was the hero there. This is a sentiment that was reflected when he tweeted out the message, “The quieter you become, the more you can actually hear.” There were also dingoes, which I saw in one of the videos.” "You’re always allowed to pick your information that you want to keep for yourself. This is clearly reflected in the 23-year-old’s Twitter feed, where he regularly shares a mixture of humorous, philosophical, and heart-warming messages.

Kyrgios ready for Tsitsipas showdown at Wimbledon (Tennis Australia)

Nick Kyrgios is one of 12 Australian players in action on day six at Wimbledon 2022.

This time the 26-year-old Aussie is partnering Muhammad, a 31-year-old American ranked No.36. They face second seeds and defending champions world No.13 Krawczyk and world No.8 Skupski. World No.16 Peers and world No.6 Dabrowksi teamed up for the first time at Roland Garros this year and progressed to the semifinals. The 33-year-old Peers, who is partnering world No.15 Polasek, is looking to reach Wimbledon’s third round for a sixth time. Sanders and Bencic saved multiple match points to make a winning start to their Wimbledon campaign. The fourth seeds are looking to better that run at Wimbledon, where they face world No.21 Schuurs and world No.45 Behar in the opening round. World No.5 Tsitsipas is hoping to extend a six-match winning streak and advance to the Wimbledon fourth round for the first time since 2018. Jin celebrated his 18th birthday in late June and is now set to celebrate another milestone, making his first Wimbledon appearance. Australian Open 2022 finalists Ebden and Purcell survived a tough first-round encounter, saving three match points to advance. “I am definitely thrilled to be facing (Nick). I respect him a lot, on the court. “He’s obviously playing some great tennis,” De Minaur said of his No.132-ranked opponent, who is contesting his first third-round match at Grand Slam level. The world No.27-ranked Australian enters this match as the favourite – but knows he can’t take Broady, a 28-year-old who upset No.12 seed Schwartzman in the previous round, lightly. A confident Tomljanovic has stormed into the third round, conceding only nine games across her opening two rounds.
