Murray in control when they get into a rally though, as Duckworth dumps a forehand into the net. Duckworth with a little skip as he tries to send a delicate volley over the net, not enough on it. Pressure being put on the Murray serve. Not the second though, slice into the net and Murray has broken back! Couple of Murray shots float wide and it’s an opening hold for Duckworth. Duckworth with a challenge, as the ball lands right on the baseline. He was almost groaning in frustration before the ball left his racket. 15-30. Break here and the Brit will be serving for the set... Well-worked point from Duckworth, forces the error from the Brit. Can only loop it up and Murray’s backhand does the rest. It is extremely unlikely Murray will be in peak condition after so long blighted injuries but, should his body allow, the 35-year-old would appear to have a favourable looking draw ahead. Set point Duckworth. And he takes it!

Wimbledon 2022 live results: Today's latest scores for all British ... (iNews)

Norrie is through but Jodie Burrage is out, while Raducanu and Murray are among the other Brits in action later on Monday.

Raducanu though did manage to save two break points at 5-4 and serve out the first set to the delight of a crowd that grew fuller as the match went on, and more involved too. More than 15 minutes had passed by the time both women had a game on the board, Van Uytvanck saving two break points in her first service game and Raducanu saving three. Umpire Kader Nouri had to remind them of their responsibilities to remain quiet during the point in the second set, but the excitement approached fever pitch when, after exactly 100 minutes, Raducanu brought up three match points. She could not consolidate though, and was broken herself, before retaliating for the third break in a row. She looked almost incredulously towards her box after sealing the second of them. Looking to complete the job, Norrie broke once more in the third game of the third set, and though he had two match points on Andujar’s serve at 5-3, he failed to convert those opportunities moments before the heavens opened for a second time.

Day 2 Preview: Rafael Nadal, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Matteo Berrettini ... (ATP Tour)

Rafael Nadal opens his bid for a third Wimbledon title, while recent ATP Tour champions Stefanos Tsitsipas and Matteo Berrettini look to extend their ...

"The last thing I expected was to come back from surgery and win two titles in a row," Berrettini said after retaining his Queen's Club crown. Rune, Musetti and Draper are third, fourth and fifth — respectively — in the Pepperstone ATP Race To Milan, trailing only Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner. After winning at Stuttgart and The Queen's Club, the Italian enters Wimbledon on a nine-match winning streak. The Italian leads Garin 2-1 in their ATP Head2Head, though Tuesday's contest will be the pair's first meeting on grass. That's what I think I achieved in the last couple of weeks, to get as many matches on grass as possible. "I love the serve-and-volley game, coming in as much as I can, slicing, attacking. I said — I insisted, in fact — that I can play on this surface, and it remains one of my favourite surfaces that tennis has to offer. The fourth seed is widely regarded as one of the game's best clay-courters, so that statement is not one to be taken lightly. "People kind of doubted that I can play on grass, I think it's fair to say. A new treatment on his chronic foot injury has provided relief from pain both on the court and in his daily life. In stark contrast to Nadal, Tsitsipas played three grass-court events in the last month, saving his best for last. It's a little bit more predictable when you have the history in the weeks before."

Opportunistic Nick: Kyrgios Clutch In Five-Set Wimbledon Win | ATP ... (ATP Tour)

Nick Kyrgios earned a thrilling five-set win on Tuesday at Wimbledon against Paul Jubb in which he converted five of his six break points and saved 11 of ...

On the next point, Jubb missed a backhand volley, and that seemed it would be a fatal mistake. Especially towards the end of the fourth set, Jubb took control with his forehand, crushing key forehands down the line to force a decider and frustrate his opponent. And when he earned opportunities, he made the most of them. Daniel Evans, Alexander Bublik and Kyle Edmund were among those who took a look at the match, especially as it grew tighter and therefore more tense. Throughout the match, the Briton showed no fear of the big moment, putting gutsy shotmaking on display, taking it to Kyrgios when he had the opportunity. "I know it's not going to be the case.
