Chris Hemsworth has revealed he had one condition when it came to starring in 'Thor: Love and Thunder' in a new interview.
Chris Hemsworth will appear as Thor in the upcoming film Thor: Love and Thunder premiering in July.
"I love the journey I've been on with him. "I just playing the character, he said. "I was a little disappointed in what I'd done," he said.
Thor: The Dark World is generally considered one of the lesser movies in the MCU, and star Chris Hemsworth doesn't disagree.
“I had a great relationship with Taika, and we had a great sense of humor and banter with us. We’re now looking ahead to Thor: Love and Thunder, which appears to take the fun to another level. And then when Ragnarok came along, out of my own frustration of what I had done, and this is not on any other director or anyone, this was my own performance. That said, there was a brief blip in the franchise back in 2013, when Thor: The Dark World failed to captivate audiences. That was until Taika Waititi came on board to completely reinvent Thor in Ragnarok: There’s the forgettable plot, and the even more forgettable villain in Christopher Eccleston’s Dark Elf leader Malekith. And as Hemsworth notes, the movie didn’t offer much development for his character.
Chris Hemsworth has been speaking about his nerves and anxiety in approaching the improvisation needed for Paul Feig's Ghostbusters.
90% of it was improvised and in the moment and not often do you have an environment to really do that in.” It was incredibly freeing, there was still a lot of anxiety bubbling under the surface but it became so much fun. But it’s extremely funny, and Hemsworth’s ditzy receptionist Kevin is one of the highlights.
The Australian actor is known for his comic chops, but that wasn't the case when he joined the cast of the 2016 Ghostbusters reboot.
He compared the experience of filming Ghostbusters to his time in drama school, where he and his collaborators worked to impress one another. In fact, this change of tone is one of the major reasons that Thor is the first MCU character to get a fourth solo film, despite the relatively mild reception for his first two movies. In a recap of his previous roles for GQ, Hemsworth recalled the trepidation he felt when he came into the film.
Chris Hemsworth is reflecting on his earlier Thor performances and the actor is not thrilled. Speaking to Vanity Fair, the Marvel actor revealed he was no.
Not only as Thor but just my life, the sort of two have been side by side for 10, 11 years now." "I was a little disappointed in what I'd done," he said. "We just dismantled the character," Hemsworth said, "we wanted to have him be a little more unpredictable, we wanted him to be in a different set of circumstances than he had been in before and also have the humour come through."
Thor actor Chris Hemsworth has previously expressed that he grew frustrated with his Marvel Cinematic Universe character over the years, up until Thor: ...
I had a great relationship with Taika and we had a great sense of banter and I thought we should cram that into this space." That was our duty at that point, to service the character in the world in a different, unique, fresh way for the audience," Hemsworth shared with GQ about the role. Thor: Love and Thunder lands in theaters on July 8th.
