Royal Ascot 2022 LIVE: Day one latest as Prince Charles & Camilla ... (The Sun)

ROYAL ASCOT is finally here - and the weather is perfect for what looks set to be a blockbuster week of action.Stick with us here for ALL of the lates.

“Baaeed is rated about 15lb below him and has only won half as many races. The 2/7 odds you could get on him a few days ago have disappeared and he's now around 1/6 to get the week off to a flyer. "In total, we've laid £60,000 on the Coroebus and Baaeed double." Nothing ventured..." While some big money has also been splashed on the big double of the day with Baaeed and Coroebus. Baaeed is so straightforward to train, he’s relaxed at home and on the gallops and it’s easy. He was 6/4 a couple of days ago and is now 4/6 ahead of the first race. "My hope kept on well when fourth in the Dewhurst and when fifth in the 2000 Guineas. Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall in Carriage 1 as the crowd cheers them into the paddock. Everyone is waiting for Baaeed to crush the Queen Anna Stakes field in the opener - Frankel-style. ROYAL ASCOT is finally here - and the weather is perfect for what looks set to be a blockbuster week of action. He toldBetfair: "I think we all know that Baaeed is highly likely to win this, and win this well, but we would all be in a sorry place if we accepted defeat before any race, particularly a Group 1 on the biggest stage.

Royal Ascot 2022: Dave Nevison's best bets for day two (Racing TV)

There were high expectations for Dark Shift at this time last season after three good runs in 6f novice company and he did not initially live up to them. Day two of Royal Ascot doesn’t feature any short-priced good things and it looks a tough punting card. Although she was beaten off today’s mark in another massive field at the Curragh last time, this filly has clearly improved for the move to Joseph O’Brien and I fancy her to get back on the winning trail.

Royal Ascot 2022 tips and best bets for day two (Telegraph.co.uk)

Our guide to the second day, including runners and riders for the Prince Of Wales's Stakes.

Farhh To Shy has done precious little wrong in her career thus far, having won four of her eight career starts; she can give the selection the most to think about. STATE OCCASION looks to have been lightly campaigned so far this season with this race in mind and she can reward the patience of her connections with victory here. She is a most consistent filly, having finished out of the first three just once in her nine-race career. She is a Group 3 winner already this term and is taken to bounce right back from a rare below-par effort in the Lockinge Stakes last time out, with the first-time cheekpieces sure to help her. Conversely, there look to be few ground queries for SHAHRYAR, a dual Group 1 winner and a top-class colt in his own right; he can take the beating in this fascinating heat. He has long been well-regarded by his powerful connections and ran an excellent race in defeat on debut over six furlongs prior to routing eight rivals last month when dropped to the minimum distance. He could not make an impact that day but he stayed on all the way to the line and, in significantly calmer waters, he can prove the one they all have to beat as he tackles a 1m6f trip that he should relish. He looks a Stakes performer in the making and can prove very hard to beat here. Nevertheless, he started making up for lost time by routing four rivals by upwards of four lengths at Newmarket’s Guineas meeting; the third and fourth have both win since, giving substance to the form. The vibes have been very strong for LOVE REIGNS leading into this race and, such is Wesley Ward’s extraordinarily strong record in the Queen Mary, it would be folly to desert his sole representative, who looked a filly of Group 1 potential in winning her only start. Top-class mare who is unbeaten in two starts this year. Fantastic line-up for this year’s Queen Mary, with over half the field bringing forward unbeaten records.

Aussie Nature Strip blows away world's best at Royal Ascot (The Sydney Morning Herald)

The world's fastest horse has conquered the world's most coveted five-day carnival, blowing away the best of the best down the Royal Ascot straight.

I think he would have silenced a few critics with that performance because he was scintillating.” The last 12 days have just been recovery from the 40-hour journey to get here, Choisir won the King Stand Stakes in 2003, and backed up on the final day of the carnival to win the Golden Jubilee over 1200 metres. We won’t be making a decision today.” “It was a good display. There was drama from the start after Khaadem left the gates without his rider and race favourite Golden Pal was slow away.

Going one better will be a challenge in what feels an open race with State Occasion and last year’s runner-up Ffion also looking likely to be amongst the front-runners in this one. Confidence will be enhanced with Aidan O’Brien on board after he rode Southern Hills and Washington DC to wins in this race over the last six years but Bolt Action and Chateau will offer a threat. A narrow win as a 13/8 favourite in the All Weather Championships Mile Handicap at Newcastle in March caught the eye, and a third placed finish on a return to the North East in April could enhance the belief an each-way gamble is the way forward. A three-length revenge win over Mother Earth on a return to Newmarket in the Sun Chariot Stakes last October showed quality and and fourth-placed finish at Dubai Turf in Mayden in March continued some momentum. A narrow win in the Dubai Sheema Classic at Meydan and will hope to make the most of the quick ground. After a slow start to a debut race at Newmarket in April, favourite Dramatised went on to see off William Buick’s Malrescia and 3/1 second favourite Chassaral. Daniel Tudhope was on board that day and he will hope to replicate that promising start with a second win.

Royal Ascot 2022: Throwback snap shared of Callum Hutchinson ... (Mirror.co.uk)

Improving stayer Coltrane made Tueaday a day to remember for young jockey Callum Hutchinson as he secured his first win at Royal Ascot.

I’m very proud of the jockey and very proud of the horse. “Unfortunately, at the end of Coltrane’s three-year-old career he had quite a nasty injury, and he’s still got a plate and some screws. Trainer Mullins labelled jockey Ryan Moore’s ride of Bring On The Night as ‘fabulous’ but conceded the combination of Hutchinson and Coltrane was too much. “He is a big yard legend and I’ve ridden him a fair bit at home. The horse got me out of trouble two out, he got through the gap nicely and quickened away there. He’s been great to me, and I’ve been kicking on throughout the year.

Royal Ascot 2022 day 2 market movers, weather and morning news ... (Mirror.co.uk)

It's going to be another hot day at Ascot and punters are expecting big-race favourite Bay Bridge to scorch his way to victory.

Japanese raider Shahryar has been relatively easy to back (top price 4/1) despite quick conditions being in his favour - a lack of pace in the race could be an issue for him though. - 5.00 - Legend Of Dubai 5-1 from 9-1 It's bookmakers one, punters nil after day one of Royal Ascot 2022. - 4.20 - Bashkirova 3-1 from 5-1 One of the biggest overnight movers is Legend Of Dubai who is now a 5-1 favourite for the Royal Hunt Cup after being available at a general 9-1 on Tuesday evening. After a flurry of Group 1 events on the opening day, the focus on day two is the Prince Of Wales's Stakes where the Sir Michael Stoute-trained Bay Bridge has been backed down to 10/11 (from 11-8) to open his Group 1 account.

Royal Ascot 2022: Prince of Wales's Stakes and more on day two ... (The Guardian)

Rebel Territory, who was set to run in the Royal Hunt Cup at 5pm, is the latest non-runner, a very frustrating exit for the horses's trainer Amanda Perrett.

All five runners, though, will go to post with a realistic chance, and it promises to be a fine highlight despite the lack of numbers. That works out as £200,000 per runner in the Prince of Wales’s Stakes, but what the feature event lacks in numbers, it makes up for in quality and variety. The farside is just a bit quicker on the straight but not much in it. The Ascot clerk of the course Chris Stickels has just been on Sky Sports Racing and said: “We’ve put 4mm of watering on the track to maintain the moisture. We still have a dry forecast for the next couple of days and then we’re not sure what is going to happen on Saturday. There are one or two forecasts of thunderstorms.” Sir Michael Stoute’s colt was odds-against at 5-4 on Tuesday afternoon but there has been plenty of cash for him this morning and you will now struggle to beat 10-11. I do like the idea of these horses self-certificating ... It’s almost that time again ... the royal procession down the track is back at about 2pm (after being seen for the first time since 2019 yesterday) and we can expect the details of who will be in it at midday. Keene himself says it’s time to ditch the procession. Or maybe just the photo-shopped Royal Ascot topper?! Don’t put these on your betting slips. The point Wallinger was making is that the difference from day to day was barely discernible but what was different yesterday, a point made by former Racing Post editor Bruce Millington and by Jack Keene in the Sun, was that the procession passed by “in total silence, with none of the usual rapturous applause and cheers.” The Queen’s passing will clearly mark a major shift in support for the monarchy.

Royal Ascot 2022: live results and latest updates for Day 2 races (Telegraph.co.uk)

Jockey Hollie Doyle claimed her third race winner at Ascot on day one aboard Bradsell in the Coventry Stakes.

The Prince of Wales' Stakes is a good test for him, however. If goodwill won races then the Queen's Perfect Alibi, who should relish the step up in trip to a mile and three quarters, a distance her dam, Daphne, won over. "He is a beautiful, big horse, a very good mover and a lovely character, but a lot of those Aga Khan families are slow developers. The favourite from today's odds is Bay Bridge but the card is full of horses who will make it a thrilling race. "I've had horses with Michael for 40 years so I'm used to his way," explained Wigan. "He never says much but if he says 'we like him' I'm very happy and I know he has liked him for a long time. Indeed, it is only because we have such high expectations of Stoute that we expect him to have half-a-dozen Group One winners a year.
